I think it's great both to give newer players things that will encourage them to stay, and to show them that it isn't just the old fogies who define the site's culture.
I'm not sure why I reduced it to three months instead of getting rid of it entirely. Already broke it by giving Persivul his title, and I don't see the harm in just having no minimum time onsite.

I think 3 months is a good idea.
Otherwise you get titles like "Bullied" for YamiChan. A little time onsite is a good thing.
i feel like a lot of the older ones had more thought put into them. they truly "fit" the person, most of the time. now I see titles for people no one knows, who haven't even gotten out of the road to rome, and get titles that were nommed and approved in a single page, for a single action in a single game. it's a bit silly.
I don't disagree with that statement. However, I don't just "dislike a couple". I definitely feel they have lost their value. I used the most recent as examples of a trend.

Back in my dayyyy
No. Not really. At least as long as I've been here, titles have not been some sort of glorious weighing of a person's soul. My title came from a single action in a single game.
now I see titles for people
no one
I don't
know

fixed.

That said, if they haven't gotten out of road to rome, that does introduce an interesting issue. Is that something that actually happens frequently?

not really. it was just tatsuya. who has played out of rome a little bit kind of (he said he tried but then it was too much and he replaced out). and he’s active in mishmash a lot.
everyone else who has a title has played quite a few games out of rome.
Simply because you disagree with me doesn't mean my opinion is somehow not my opinion. It is how I feel about it. Whether others agree or not doesn't change that.
By the by, and apologies if this is inappropriate, but my title is a reflection of my college days and I'm not particularly proud of it anymore, especially since I now drink maybe once every three or four weeks. I know I've been away for a while and probably haven't done anything to merit a new one, but if anybody sees me do something in the future they think would make a good title please don't hesitate to suggest it in here.
It never meant much to begin with. If your issue is you don't know the people being titled, that's not a valid complaint. It's like saying "they should bans dogs because they're not my favourite colour".
Is a title means something to a decent sized portion of the community and not you/me/Reck/etc, who freaking cares?

No.... No, that never really happened. Titles that have been workshopped for weeks to "fit" a person are generally horrible.
If a person can be summed up by a title, then they aren't someone worth titling.
