Game Specific Rules!

1. Every role has been assigned to a member of the band Genesis. This may or may not be important.
2. This game is bastard modded. I can confirm, however, that your alignment will NOT change during the course of the game.
3. The mafia has been provided safe claims by the mod.
4. When a player dies, that player's role PM will be revealed. Some information may be removed.
5. Information roles do not have a unique result for an unsuccessful resolution.
6. Standard night action resolution as stated in the wiki will be used.

The band was milling about backstage after a particularly disappointing outing. Peter was crying softly into his various makeups and disguises while everyone else stood around uncomfortably, lamenting the palpable lack of snack trays.

-Pete, it'll be okay. We've played for bored audiences before.

-Yeah Peter. Chin up.
-Hey so where are we tomorrow?
-I dunno. We should ask the tour manager.

Peter suddenly stopped sobbing, stiffened, and raised a finger to his lips. He felt a disturbance.

-Where's Phil?
-He was just here.

A deep thrum oozed into their bodies through the floor. The backstage was crackling with energy. They all felt it now.

-It has finally happened. Phil has found the wigs.

On cue, Phil Collins, sporting a towering pink beehive wig darted into the room.

-There are going to be some changes!

-Now darling, we can't change everything now.

-No! I want everyone to know that Phil is MINE and I'm not sharing him with anyone.

-Phyllis dear, I have to perform with the band.

-Nonsense! We have a divorce scheduled for the afternoon and then two rounds of post-divorce sex scheduled after dinner.

Phil was taking the wig on and off to speak in a high-pitched imitation of a woman's voice. It wasn't very good.

-Now Phyllis, I was very clear. My music comes first.

-Not anymore it doesn't! And let me tell the rest of you treacherous lecherous rats! Phil is mine and mine alone and none of you are allowed to divorce him anymore!

-Darling, I swore to you I'd never divorce anyone again.

-You better not! And I'll kill anyone who tries to! Now we have to leave and no one is to follow us or I will be forced to do

With that, Phil ran out of the backstage with several wigs under his arm and into the night. The rest of the band stared slack-jawed. Mike spoke up first.

Let me tell you, that was a really informative documentary. I had no idea that Snuffleupagus was real or that women were so into him. Sexually, I mean. Anyway, so I’m reeling from the news of my divorce when–

Peter Gabriel is crawling around the hotel parking lot on his hands and knees like a dog. He is sniffing the ground, looking up purposefully, then running in a random direction. He runs into the dumpster and throws it open. Anthony Phillips is crouching inside the dumpster clutching his lone product with the band, Trespass.

Peter.

Anthony! What the devil are you doing here?

Anthony.

Oh... you know... just hanging out. Maybe you might need a guitarist so I thought I'd just sort of be around. In case you decided you loved me again.

Peter.

We don't.

Steve.

I'm the guitarist now!

Anthony.

I know, but... I was pretty good!

Peter.

Yeah, but we're with Steve now. Get out of here.

Anthony Phillips leaps out of the dumpster clutching a discarded half-full box of doughnuts. As he is sprinting towards his dilapidated camper van, he is hit in the neck with a dart. He falls over and dies. Peter walks calmly to the corpse of their former guitarist and pulls out the dart. It is wrapped in a piece of paper. Peter unfurls the paper



Just as he is reading it, a small plane flies overhead and drops a few dozen acoustic guitars on them.

He thinks he's being clever.

So the bastard mechanic in this game was that some players had secret abilities that would be triggered by the death of another player. These were not included in role PMs and the players were not aware of why their role PMs were changing. While this was a fun mechanic to design, I think that it was far more cute than good. In future games I would want to make players aware of the mechanic but not tell them how it would be triggered. I was hoping that would be more clear to the players than it was.

Overall I think this game was kind of a dud, and I had far more fun designing it than you all had playing it. Some of that was on the replacement situation for sure, but I don't think the setup was very much fun for the players. Also the fact that a number of the good pro-town abilities never got unlocked.
