@ Mastin
you missed my vote on Gummy. I'll quote it in a sec

I'm not Mastina but I hope I'll do. :P All fixed now. My automated vote counter missed that. Anyone should feel free to tell me if I miss a vote. I know why, the thing is really sensitive regarding the names of who is playing. Lols.

Thanks for mentioning that Drixx. On the topic of that argument, it's a good idea to avoid anything close just in case someone sees it as such. After all, it is a blurry line.

This post... actually kinda makes sense... not saying I agree or disagree (I need to check KC's ISO now), but it may be a good point.

Answers to his questions

1. Who have you played with before on from the player list?
LittleGumball, Mastin, AP (Never out of Hydra though), Peregrine. LG is the only one I've had multiple games with though. The others this is my second game with.
2. Choose one player and describe their town vs. scum meta.
I'll do LG. She hasn't been playing as much lately, and the last game I found where she was scum was my second game ever, around a year and a half ago, so I need to look back at that.
3. Link to your most recent finished town game and scum game (can be offsite but preferable on MS)
Scum Game: http://zeldadungeon.net/forum/threads/s ... fia.52586/ (I sucked in this one. If you want one where I lasted more than one day tell me)
Town Game: http://zeldadungeon.net/forum/threads/t ... end.52871/ (Be careful... this one is a brainsore. Also, I ended up replacing in a few days after my death in case anyone gets that far)
If you ever decide to ask for a third-party game, I have never been.
4. What is your fave scum hunting tool?
I enjoy the good old burning the witch method :P
In seriousness, I'm that guy that comes back later in the game and looks for small inconsistencies in prior posts. I'm not good at judging by playstyle, so I try to avoid that for the most part.
5. Pick a color for your soul.
I'm a ginger. I have no soul.
6. Which player do you want to ask a question of? Ask them that question.
Oversoul
, why the vote? You didn't give reasoning in-post. Did I miss something in a prior post?

Also, elusive, Blue Blur is indeed Salamance, along with Metal Sonic.

Literally no way to emphasize how much I wish it were true since right now, I frankly feel like playing like scum this game even though I'm not.

I'd love to say that I'd live to lategame to break it. (I specialized in this type of gamebreaking on EpicMafia, after all.)
I'd love to say that scum nightkill me some time this game, like, say, N3 or so.
But frankly, I find it far more likely that I'm getting lynched some time. Player respect for me will keep it from being on D1, naturally (except if it doesn't), where the mindset, "But she COULD be town, and if so, we're making a huge mistake wasting her" will save me, but bluntly, I really don't see myself ending up in this game as anything other than a mislynch.

I can maybe be of some help, but honestly I'm also getting a feeling that no matter how much effort I put in, my reads will never be good; spending 8 hours a day on the game feels like it'd net me no more scum than if I was just hipgun gutposting minimal content.

In post 18, mastin2 wrote:Also,
Mod: can you link to the setup in the OP somewhere?

It'd be helpful for research purposes. (Frankly I did look at it once but didn't really look at the combinations in any true level of detail, just skimming it as an, "Okay" sort of thing. But I know it'll be needed eventually.)

(Psst...for those who end up scumreading me and think this is a post straight out of the mafia presumably-PT, that means I'd be playing a game where I intend my death to serve my team, a-la L4D. Thus, don't give towncred to those voting me and don't discard my reads just because they're coming from me. It'll save you a world of pain. Of course by saying this there's wifom involved, but, well, you'll thank me later if you take my advice.)

In post 21, mastin2 wrote:
In post 19, Klingoncelt wrote:Dang, Mastin, you seem unusually depressed.
You would be too if it happened to you. (Badabada, ba! :P)

I had high hopes for the game, but I hold good situational awareness. Given my role, and given the players, and given my feelings from what I've generally picked up the vibe for, I know it holds a fairly high probability of being true. Effectively, while it's possible I'm wrong and I turn out to be a scumhunting goddess--especially if that EM experience proves to serve me well--I just have this general ~vibe~ of bad things happening this game.

Yeah, could be a self-fulfilling prophecy, I'll admit that, but I don't think so. I'm probably getting lynched, and I'm probably not going to have made much of a meaningful impact on the game. I
will
say, though, that I'm not giving up--even at my weakest, I typically nail at least ONE scumbag a game, so that's pretty much my goal this game.

Here’s how these read to me:

the mod already destroyed my hopes.

I’m VT, so no need to waste an investigation on me or anything, and no need to wonder why the scum never NK me…

Literally no way to emphasize how much I wish it were true since right now, I frankly feel like playing like scum this game even though I'm not.

…but if I play like scum, don’t be suspicious, it’s just because I’m mad I drew VT…

I'd love to say that I'd live to lategame to break it. (I specialized in this type of gamebreaking on EpicMafia, after all.)

…and even though I’m voting townies early, if you keep me around I’ll solve the end game for you.

I'd love to say that scum nightkill me some time this game, like, say, N3 or so.
But frankly, I find it far more likely that I'm getting lynched some time.

In case you didn’t figure that out above, let me emphasize that there’s no reason to be suspicious if I’m never NK’d.

Player respect for me will keep it from being on D1, naturally (except if it doesn't),

I’m a big deal, so don’t even think about voting me D1.

"But she COULD be town, and if so, we're making a huge mistake wasting her" will save me,

In case you missed it above, let me repeat that I’m going to look scummy this game, but don’t you mind that, keep me around and I’ll save the day in the end.

I can maybe be of some help, but honestly I'm also getting a feeling that no matter how much effort I put in, my reads will never be good

Did I mention that I’m going to be voting town this game? OK, just wanted to make sure you heard that.

I will say, though, that I'm not giving up--even at my weakest, I typically nail at least ONE scumbag a game, so that's pretty much my goal this game.

But again, you’ll be sorry if you lynch me.

It was a complete scum or third party preemptive CYA message from start to finish. I suppose I’ll pay the price for questioning the old guard or whatever she is, but it feels like an Emperor Has No Clothes situation, and I’m the only one willing to state the obvious.

VOTE: mastin

I did this exact same thing last game I was with her, and she was very much town. Mastin is hard to read, but if a large number of people are trusting her, then I suggest listening to them. Keep going as you are if you wish though... this is just my suggestion.

No, but you have given a few posts similar to this:

In post 433, Oversoul wrote:More people should join the Triforce wagon.

Without giving much of a reason. You gave a short blurb for first vote (which I forgot to quote, but I'll reply to it below), and that's it. I tend to want to know exactly why people vote me, because if I don't I feel a little helpless and unable to fight back.

In post 442, Oversoul wrote:

Counterpoint: how about KlingonCelt, Gratuitous, or Bulbasaur?

Klingon: I could be persuaded, but I can't really read her effectively.
Gratuitous: Probably not. Thinking he is town.
Bulbasaur: I was thinking of moving there, but I think I'm onto something with Triforce.

In post 438, MaxwellPuckett wrote:Also, why Triforce wagon?

He looks like newb-scum that is trying not to ruffle feathers and still contribute. He was unusually focused on my vote on him for whatever reason.

Finally, a little more reasoning.
My unvote was not noob. I wanted me coming out and admitting it to push the last few players out of RVS. Enough people stating it will make it true for everyone. I didn't keep my vote because I saw no reason at the time to believe G was scum, and keeping an old RVS vote I forget about can be annoying if I try to give a legit vote later on.
The focus on your vote is, as I said, something I do. If I miss your reasons at first, and I want to fight back, then I can't, because I missed them, and I just hate that. And I don't like ruffling feathers because I'm still giving a feel for this game. I don't put out Day 1 readlists because Day 1 things go everywhere. Day 2 we have some flips and a lot of talking under our belt, so I can go back and see how things add up. Until then I try not to ruffle feathers because I don't enjoy being lynched Day 1, which I think it's safe to say is true for almost everyone.

Why is triforce scum?

Double random vote followed by unvote looks like nervous, novice scum trying to blend in with the crowd.

Here's your initial reasoning.
Double random vote was because RVS. I gave explicit(ly stupid) reasons for them. It's just RVS. The unvote was purposeful, as I stated above. I know this is nothing new, but I wanted to quote it just to make sure I could find it later and make sure I replied to everything.

Pedit: I'm getting to everything else Bulbasaurus Rex.

Just how I like it ;)
Anyways, Bulba, skimmed them again, and I didn't find much in there to be worried about. It's nice to get an idea on where Plot stands on things though. I'll be checking back on these again later in the game probably.

My thoughts on the Bulba wagon:
First, anything about the RVS stuff I won't worry about. It's RVS.
Second, about the Mastin buddying, I can see where people are coming from there. If Mastin had made some post since his last few focusing on her, then I wouldn't think much about it. But that does seem kinda buddying to me looking back.
His 227 was more or less revenge voting IMO
Surprisingly, his 307/308 doesn't pop out to me much.
I like his 335 though. Good man there. We may take you up on that offer ;)
The daychat thing I thought was interesting. It's obvious he was trying to say he didn't know, since he could've answered for Elusive if he did. This discounts his 373. I townread someone for something like this another game, but that was different circumstances involving other sites they'd played on. His questioning of what a townslip was is in my opinion stupid because breaking the words apart, when talking about MS, should make it pretty obvious.
I understand his arguments about the RVS stuff, once again, and know that his Perse was very much not an RVS.
His 403 and 407 kind of contradict each other, first saying that he'd rather be lynched than be an obstacle (in line with his 335), but in the next one complaining about people calling him scum, which would be the only reason he'd be lynched.
413 I can see where he's coming from, and I have to ask...
Persival, where are those Mastin and PV reads you mentioned?
Since he didn't see them either, I doubt I missed them.
419 was an honest mistake on his part.
On 447, he complains about 445. Why? Give us a reason. All you said is that it upsets you. In my opinion, the arguments provided make sense.
469 is just stupid. Like, seriously. If you want me to go into detail I will, but I don't think I really need to.

In my opinion? He started out good, but I'm not so sure of him now. I'm gonna look at the other leading lynches and make a decision on which one I'll join.

Well, the other big one right now is Blue Blur. They didn't stand out to me for my first readthrough or for my ISO check. Some stuff I can see why people would consider them, but not enough.
Since he's far from majortiy, and I think he's our best bet, I'm gonna

No we're not close, but I felt like I had to do something. I do think he's the most likely candidate, though things could change if he does or someone else's halo starts to slip.

And I do, but, as Professor Oak says

I've felt decent about Oversoul up until the vote on Kling. My thinking is, if Kling turns up scum, then lynch Oversoul. If not, it's just Mastin-sheeping, which I think is normal for games she's in.

My thoughts on this:
1) Stop feeding the possi-troll
2) If you say you will do a read list, please do one
3) This is OMGUS on both sides. If neither wagon is getting anywhere, let's move on, shall we?

I would've explained more, but I was short on time.
Here's the full version for you:
Once again, I think you're town. And I see your point completely, though I'm not sold on KlingonScum yet. However, I just find this whole argument annoying. You have good points, but yore being an ass about it. KC needs to put out that scum list, and I expect to see that soon. Feel free to stay on the wagon, but I don't think either side is convincing anyone any more, and the same points are being thrown around. I think, as a game, we should look at other lynches, and come back later, when you're both clear-headed and we've had time to explore other options.

Let's try this: we've been talking KC, who's first on the list. Is anyone willing to lynch Prolapsed, who's second? Why? Let's just go down the list. We have time. Well come back to this maybe when we get to your name. Sound good?

Well, I promised Gumball meta, so I guess I'll start off with that. Keep in mind I haven't found a recent scumgame for her
Day 1 she's usually big into the RVS, but quiets down when it ends. Starting Day 2 she becomes more active and starts talking and being actually very useful. I think she enjoys having some flips to help her reads. This is true for both mafia and town.
There was one game where she subbed in as third-party and really didn't say much of anything at all, but, as I said, she subbed in, and I've never noticed her being third party before or since so I can't confirm.
I'll continue reading the games and coming up with stuff, but that's what I have for now.

I'd also like to point out that these take place in a highly different, much more laid-back community. She only has one other game on MS so far, which is currently running and she hasn't died yet, so I can't say much about how this community would change her playstyle.

Well, I quickly ISOd Prolapsed. Here's my thoughts:
He has 9 posts. 3 of these could be considered useful. At this point, I'd consider him unhelpful. Pro! Show up!
His 3 serious posts mostly have to do with a vote on the Blurs. However, he has since switched votes to an RVS-type vote . This was in the 500s, which is way too late for that in my opinion, especially if you already have a serious vote. At this point I wouldn't start a bandwagon on him, but I wouldn't fight it. I also wouldn't waste any possible cop checks on him.

As for Plot, I'll leave your recent thoughts on me be right now. I'll wait until you catch up and see if you still have any questions.

I didn't say don't vote her elusive. I meant you were arguing for it this long, so why not before, when you first started arguing for it?
And I found my answer with a quick ISO check. I'd forgotten that you'd voted KC a while before your Prolapsed vote.

Welcome Fire!
Sing, the reason I let it slip by a little is because elusive was getting emotional. Like, very emotional. When you're emotional, you don't think straight. That's why I think emotion should have little play in this game. I understand the points you were making, but some of elusives prior posts (which you'll see in your read through, I'm sure) plus the amount of emotion in those posts gave me a good feeling about her alignment. Even so, for now I won't allow my reads on her to effect my reads on Fire. After I see some content for Fire I'll see if that was enough to change my views on elusive.

Please provide some content other than rehashing singer/Pers slot is scum 900 times over. Currently we think you are scum because you have tried to ask for towncred, your town case on sonic was forced and weak, and you have hardly done any other scumhunting. That is part of why we are focused on you, because you're our top scumread and if you are town we need you to start scumhunting so if you do flip town, we can see how people have interacted with you. Repeating Songer/Perse is scum doesn't help build up those associatives and interactions.

@fire - what do you mean in 989?

This is itself is weak. Why do you keep assuming I was asking for towncred when I have expressed that I do not care how you read me. I care a h out soling the game and singer is scum. That overall point he qas making is bad comparison with two players tha t are not the same person.

Yet to answer? Perhaps the most important part of my read is how they completely compare two different players. And perse was scummy.

Comparing two players can be townie. In fact, it's how most common scumreads came to be. Newbscum RVSing their Godfather is a good example of how that could be useful. I'm not saying that what she argued was a scumtell, just that her making that argument doesn't make her mafia.
As for the perse thing, I get it, but perse can only be some of your read, both since he's not here any more and because he posted a lot less than Sing has/will.

Policy lynches are generally scummy

But if what singer says is true that they always do it I guess with meta can't lynch based just on that.

I mean policy lynch is basically saying "you don't play how we want you get lynched" it's bullying players to conform to play styles and I find it shitty thing to do.

On the other hand, if one player is keeping multiple from enjoying the game, such as in this case, then the lynch could very well be justified. I don't support all policy lynches either, but there are always exceptions.

How do you ever know scum aren't pushing on a policy lynch?

Perhaps one town is annoyed calls for it, then scum jumps on claiming they are also annoyed by the player.

No one scum read the player, completely because maybe 1 person followed by group mentality to get rid of.

that sounds fine?

Here is what you do.
1) ignore the player.
2) ask to be replaced out
3) tough it out and never play with that player again.

Personally I don't like any if the above except maybe ignore. They are still better than altering the game because if personnel grudges.

Point taken. I step down, sir.

Anyone not on Kling/Grat at this point is antitown.

Seriously, we need to get this game moving!!!

Sally

Just caught this post.
Just because we have not chosen to join a possible hammer doesn't mean we're antitown, either in Role PM or playstyle. This is way an overreaction. I understand perfectly your plan, and somewhat agree with it, but dude.

So, read changes over the last few pages:
BB down (intense on those two lynches and not really willing to look elsewhere)
KC down (gut. I'll ISO her this weekend)
I'll vote Grat if he gets close to a hammer, but not yet.

I understand your reasoning, Soul, but
1) While I'm not feeling confident in the Blurs as town, they have a good point. This day is getting quiet, and we still have a while to go.
2) Grat hasn't contributed as much as other people, and I'd rather lynch a lurker than someone who could be helpful later.

There are multiple lurkers, yet their names were not raised.

I'm aware. These are my personal reasons for joining the lynch.

All right, so caught up. Here are my thoughts:

@Gratuitous: My vote on you didn't change because of who was voting, but because of how many were voting. If you notice, a VC also happened right before my vote. I saw you were at L-3 or whatever, so I decided it was close enough for me to join.

@Quoth: Why must you two keep reminding us of your towniness? It happens, like, a lot.

Gummy's 1584 (Here I started writing down post numbers): There are admittedly a lot of people thinking like that right now. Not saying I don't understand, but it's not necessarily scummy.

BB's 1587: That post was after she asked, so you can't really use it as reasoning why she was scummy before.

Gummy's 1590: So you think they're both town?

Grat's 1611: I don't think he was pushing the opinion, only asking you about it. Even if I feel that Fire is town, if Grib questions it, I can still ask him what he thinks of it.

KC's 1624: It's been building up as time goes on, though I don't think there's one post putting it all together.

KC's 1629: So you're giving into the pressure then? If you feel like this wagon shouldn't go anywhere, do the right thing, not the popular thing. Just say no to drugs kids.

KC's 1651: That in itself is lynch-worthy :P

KC's 1655: Mislynched you say? So you think Grat's town too?

Pedit: Well, the Grib wagon is off. Right now I'm good with either of the leads, but maybe Grib deserves a once-over too.
Sonic (I'll assume): Calm down. Plz.

Gumball is relatively new here. I can see why he doesn't get it. But gumball is pretty obvtown to me, even if they are acting anti-town without realizing it.

Nice defending there. I like how bulba is obvscum but Gumball is obvtown.

Stop fucking hurting my townread of you.

no trust me this is a verrrrrrrry different community than where i come from

believe it or not most games there (at least the ones that I participated in) rarely if ever reach a majority lynch before the end of the day. That's just one culture shock, let your imagination run wild from there.

Can confirm. Very much confirm.

In post 1795, The Blue Blur wrote:I dont give a fuck about other sites and (somehow?) how you think that clears you.

People HERE do not wait til deadline to come up with a lynch, because 99.99999% of the time, its shitty and hits town.

Well, other sites show how people learned the game. It effects their playstyle and what they scumread heavily. While it doesn't confirm her, they're also important.

In post 1820, St Constantine the Hermit wrote:Do you know how frustrating it is to replace into a game just to be lynched? I really wanted to replace into this game, which is why I personally volunteered. I would really like to continue playing.

But here I am taking the one slot in the game that has 8 or 9 votes on it, trying to salvage whatever town points I can in order to make it to the second goddamn day!

I'm all for giving Constantine the extra day to defend himself. Literally he just came in, and he's about to be lynched.

It's funny that I wanted Grib dead, but Constantine is making me rethink the slot.

Okay check that shit out. Sally, posts like this make me not trust you. First of all, you can't say someone is CONFIRMED scum, and then go line up a lynch in the case that the CONFIRMED scum flips town. Like what? You're not using the word 'confirmed' correctly, and your logic is inconsistent.
"this slot is confirmed scum. Here's my evidence. And regardless of their alignment, they're a bad slot. WHEN the slot flips scum, yadda yadda yadda." you made certain to put in that you were SURE Grat slot would flip scum. But then you still stick in a net just in case they flip town. Or because you know they'll flip town?

This is all WIFOM. All of it.

Why not?

No. She's townreading them, and using her role more as a doctor than as a roleblocker/vigilante

Why jail someone you are town reading if you have to kill them?

The three modifiers are as follows:
Drizzzx (Compulsive)
Constantine (Drunk)
Myself (Drunk)
Nobody else has a negative modifier.

So many things to reply to... But on mobile...
1) Sal? Sonic? Fine. Good job finding scum. Don't let it get to your head now :P
2) My N2 was Constantine. Talk to me Frogs.
3) BB, they weren't confscum FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME. I almost wish he wasn't so that it wouldn't go to your head. Of course, since they were right, chances are they're not scum (sadly). Some people didn't want Honey lynched so that they'd talk.
4) The Judge is not confscum. As long as we learn who it is soon, I think it's wise for Constantine to hide their identity.
5) Why are we wagoning me again? You guys never answered that.
6) Why do you think the pretender is the judge?
7) While you weren't talking to me... Right back atcha TBB (whichever you are)
A live town is a good town. And why shouldn't they be replaced? Why have so many town die instead of maybe having them become helpful and non-lurky?

@Triforce...how do you know ninja is a modifier? From what I can an undetectable can be one of three things.

Ninja was the first to pop into my mind. What are the others you can think of?

I don't understand this and it's been stated several times

Also why didn't you vote honeybee

Also why is one vote a wagon

But your "wagon" had to do with being off the honeybee wagon right before its hammer

But Constantine is a better vote because he has this + lying and shitposting

VOTE: constantine @mod please count this I can't make the red squiggly to go away under his name :(

There were two votes and at the time the only ones in the whole game. That's why.
I already explained multiple times my lack of Bee vote and why Judge Dredd may have agreed.
Here's the thing: there's nothing inherently scummy about the lack of movement N2 until we figure out why.

I dont give a shit what you think.

The second I flip town all your cred goes down the drain.

You can redeem it by voting Constantine

A single action does not a town read make, Sal. This is flat-out coercion. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Yes and yes.

The Goat is being replaced. VC incoming.

This hurts guys...

Given this is Drizzx's third prod this day phase, they will be replaced. If they post before a replacement is found, they can stay.

In post 1909, Titus wrote:
Gratuitous has requested replacement. Going to the queue. If one is not found in 19 hours, night will be paused until a replacement has 24 hours to read and select any night actions they may or may not have.

In post 2368, Titus wrote:The group dashes out of bed, heading to the center of town. The group drags Honeybee out of bed and sets her up into the noose. Titus comes out of bed, hung over as always. Some members of the town were still asleep.

The crowd gathers yelling at Titus to tighten the noose on Honeybee's neck. Titus checks her messages. "This feels like there's a violation. You cannot strangle Honeybee. The procedures were not followed. Do not reply back. I will not tell you the procedures." Instead of tightening the noose, she undoes the ties.

"The judge has spared you," Titus says to Honeybee, "Good luck."

The judge has overturned the lynch. It is now Night 2.

The night will last at least 72 hours. Any replacement for Little Gumball will have 24 hours to catch up. I will send a pm at the Start of Day 3.

Muffin requested replacement.

Honeybee will be replaced.

Atum has until a replacement is found to post. I'll be PMing him, since daystart isn't technically two hours old.

This is bad

I agree. This game is in a sad state of affairs when it comes to original players.

Why don't we start lynching more extreme lurkers so people will stop lurking? Because seriously...
The problem with OS is they're asking to be lynched. Let's give it to someone who's not today, and someone kill him tonight or lunch him tomorrow. But for now, let's focus on someone who's lurking and don't wanna die.

All caught up. V/LA ends tonight.
I'm going for Ronit because they've been pretty inactive until a few pages ago and they are, in my opinion, the scummiest of te inactives. Other people may be town reading Bulba, but I ain't.

If you want a really scum wagon for lurking, vote Matsin. Shes been lurking on towncred from Honeybee and I could see that as a bus.

I wouldn't really say that lynch gave anyone towncred other than you guys... especially lurkers like Mastina

But I'm in no mood to fight the wagons. Even though I'm pretty sure Oversoul/ronit/Firebringer are all town.

Then please restate them for all to see. From what I've seen, as town, you're a good scumhunter. As for fighting the wagons, you wouldn't have to. But it is kinda counterproductive to not at least put half an effort out there to stop what you think is a townlynch

Liar

She made an offhand comment about my scum game that I did not like considering she has played with me as town before.

People can read games they're not in.
And also, just because they said something "you didn't like" doesn't make them scum.

I wanna argue that Matsin is wrong, but she isnt. This game is lacking. I almost want to replace out because Im 86% sure Sonic doesnt care for this game and Im literally carrying the game on my shoulders right now keeping the game relevant but not getting any responses.

Idk what to do guys.

If you want my advice, I'd say post more sparingly. Your overposting in the game (to the point of nearly spamming) is part of the reason people are getting disengaged. Just take a step back and let people who haven't posted much get caught up properly. If you see apathy and lack of activity, the solution isn't to post a lot to compensate for it. A healthy gamestate is one where lots of posters are equally active and have reasonable activity levels.

This.

Fuck off.

My posting is justified as more than half of the playerlist is not doing anything

And maybe it wouldn't be needed if you backed off a little. Just give it a try.
