Fallout 4

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games
(board, card, video, we're not picky)
.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

I'm psyched for this, and am actively avoiding all content besides the trailer before release. Don't want shit spoiled for me like New Vegas.

Nope, I am hiding from all content until release. I even have a holiday on the Wednesday after release for Remembrance Day. I'm going to brew a pot of coffee at 8am, and jam a solid 12 hours. I consider this something of a miracle.

It kind of deviated from SF Western-Apocalypes with FO3, then went back for NV. Now they look to be touching on Blade Runner's territory a bit.

Personally, I'd say New Vegas. The different factions help make it a much more "alive" and enjoyable game, at least for me. FO3 is solid as well, but does much better with the Broken Steel add-on.

Holy fucking agreed. The first thunderstorm was amazing.

Seriously though, fuck that first Deathclaw.

Yeah, I had to call it a night last night because this section stressed me out too much. Thinking I just need to let it kill all the raiders, and then I'll kill it.

EXACT SAME PROBLEM, RECK.

I've never found a fallout game hard until now

Right? I dunno. It almost feels like I missed some crucial quest or something that let me level up a bit and gain more resources/ammo/caps before moving onto this, but this is like...literally at the start of the game.

I'm almost mad at one of the first sidequests
Spoiler: Minor Spoilers for Early Game
The one where you're at the pumping station and have to dive down to fix the valves? Then the big crabs attack. I completely accidentally shot the questgiver during the battle (holy fuck I had to blow so many medpacks to survive) and then he was hostile to me and I had to kill him, so I failed the quest

Meh, that guy's an asshole anyway.

I like the concept, but I wish they'd done it with something other than Power Armor. It's such an iconic part of the series, but they just limited it for nothing.

Agreed. I really like the layout and look of it.

I took the perk that lets you find more ammo, and really committed to a 10mm pistol/Laser Rifle combo. Weapon Melees are helpful too.

Woot, got my first non-Dog companion! I have spent way too much time dicking around in the wasteland.

You can mostly just play how you want. This isn't like Diablo where you'll get punished for not spec'ing a certain way. If you want to go Strength/Charisma, you'll probably get mileage out of Endurance as well. Mostly it comes down to what type of weapon you want to use, and buff those skills in particular (i.e. Perception if you go long-range, and pick up the rifle bonus damage)

I haven't left Power Armor since I found my first suit. Juggling Fusion Cores is adding a new layer of management that I like a lot. Speccing hard in Intelligence to get to Nuclear Physicist.
