US border guard: WHERE ARE YOU COMING FROM? WHAT DID YOU DO? DO YOU HAVE ANY CONTRABAND? ARE YOU SURE? 0/10 chill

As a high school teacher of mine put it, the US border guards are like nazis whereas the Canadian Border guards are like your friendly neighbourhood postman. XD

I've actually found the guards stricter with me when I've crossed into Canada, either because I'm a citizen or because my average border crossing experience is so unexciting due to a mix of white privilege and looking like a fifteen-year-old girl. On the American side, they dismiss me right away as not a threat, whereas on the Canadian side, they think there's a non-zero chance I could have brought back fruit or shopped for more than the allowed limit.
