If the scummies group decides they want it public, I can always create a spreadsheet that pulls info from the nomination form and leaves out the anti-noms.

I think it's possible, however, that the scummies group would like to have more drama and announce the year's nominees at the end of the year (the top 5 per group or some such) rather than just a hodge podge. I'm not sure though, so I'll leave that in their hands.

The antinoms aren't there to diss anyone. They're there to provide more feedback to judges. The private nature allows people to speak frankly without feeling like it's intended to be an insult. The antinoms will not be public.
The judges are going to talk about the nominees behind their back already.

I leave most things to them, but I'm not interested in the official scummies being a place where public grudges are played out. In no way does that seem like an appropriate use of the scummies.

For you perhaps. Ask anyone who has done the updates for any period of time whether it worked fine.

It's like the least rewarding listmod job ever. You have to trawl through all the nominations, find if it's already been nominated, format it, etc. It's not that onerous at any given time, but it is definitely so in aggregate. The proof is in the pudding: no matter who has done the updates, it has gotten out of date with regularity with only sporadic updates.

Is the form user-unfriendly?

As for a list with people nominated from the forms, I've made one that can be posted. I'll let them decide how and whether to incorporate that.

I'm not sure a policy has been announced, but as long as it's not a self-nom, my guess is that it will not be. Don't hold me to that though. PRobably in some part relies on what kinds of numbers we see in the nomination form.

Put the hydra name in. The judges/title fairy can sort out the individuals to receive the award. This makes it easier to find the relevant posts too, for what it's worth.

The hope is always to do it the same day as the oscars. But it takes time to write the ceremony and sometimes that slips

all right. you shouldn't have access to the main document anymore. Scummies committee will have to get access through their google account.

I see all the nominations on the image for what it's worth. The image file updates automatically, but there's usually a delay of some time. Plus, you're likely to have a cached version on your computer.

yes. I removed public access to the base document, but the image should still share. My only concern is that the image may have a maximum size, but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

The issue primarily is that we're basically a month after the ceremony was supposed to be done. Starting again with new people who say they'll help out and then have a high chance of not doing so (not specific to anyone, but given the history) is only going to delay things even further.

If you're interested in writing the ceremony, I encourage you to offer your help next year.

I know it's a body of work award and that makes it tougher to nominate for, but right now we only have one paragon nomination. If you know someone who deserves that, please nominate!

I don't usually think it's a popularity contest that much, but I do think reputation and familiarity play a sizable role. That was particularly the case for body of work awards where it's nearly impossible to read very much in depth every single game that all nominees were nominated for. Some attempts are usually made to quantify things, but that's such a shallow understanding of the game that it's understandably a secondary concern.

Only one person can win the award. It's okay to nominate more than one person, but do a little self-editing. Every nomination is more work for the judges, which is okay, but if you're just throwing out a ton of people who you don't even think are most deserving of the award, you're creating needless work.

Rising star doesn't need a ton of games, but they probably do need to play actively.

As for self-nominations, they'll pretty much be ignored. I won't transfer over the nomination to the threads, and I won't include the reasoning provided by a self-nomination. At one point self-nominations were tolerated because we required seconding of nominations so no one person could put themselves in the running alone. We don't require seconds for nominations now, so there's no need to put up with the self-promotional nature of self-nominations.

To be fair, cthat would be the area it would be possible for someone to be doing something and me not have any idea until it actually touched users.
