I'd just like to say publicly: congratulations to the top half!

Yep, there's 10 Rookies and Veterans left, and we started with 20 of each.

Thanks mods for putting me in 20th place. At least I won't be eliminated first for not knowing any fancy words ;)

If the first word is a 20-letter word I am going to die in shame.

I'm an American who likes to use favourite and colour. Why on earth would I do such a thing? :P

At least you shouldn't have to deal with placing Z in the wrong places. (or S I suppose because nonsense)

This is not a good game for this contest, I think. It'd be a lot better as a series of one on ones. It's not very satisfying to have basically no control. I get to go first and then I'll never see the word again? I mean hurrah for not being eliminated until later, but it's not great. And then there are the people who are in zugzwang and know it. Getting eliminated with zero ability isn't great.

Plus I think this is probably the contest most open to cheating. Even inadvertent cheating. If I type "Truck" and my system doesn't underline it in red, I know that's a word.

This is meant to be a team challenge, not an individual one; and on the team level, I think there's more strategy involved than you guys are giving it credit for.

I don't really mind the challenge. I think there's a luck element to it (like for instance I rolled the 1 out of 22 so it was near impossible for me if not impossible for me to be the first boot) but I think there's enough skill in knowing vocabulary and leading your teammates towards what you were thinking and hoping they can read your mind.

But since we can't talk with our team I don't think it's so much strategy as much as which individual can be the cleverist towards the middle of the word.

I also don't know if you can argue against Zor's point that the farther in you get in the word, the less control you have, again, unless you could talk to each other.

The biggest problem I'm seeing with the challenge now is that each individual person doesn't get to do very much. I'm considering restructuring it to be a series of smaller matches, meaning the challenge would start over from scratch.

You can definitely try for certain words to eliminate certain people (and get blocked repeatedly by someone else damnit Haschel)
