I think we should wait until night 1 to make any explicit decisions about that (I think doing that day 1 would probably not be the best), but I'm definitely down for that plan. I think we should definitely be flexible and not just say, like, I'm bussing you day 2 no matter what.

callforjudgment
, I have a question on something I'm not totally clear on in your rules: is it acceptable to plan ahead during night phases words or phrases that I might use during the day to signal certain information to my partner (e.g. "if I say this phrase X, that's me indicating that I think you should do this action Y")? rules C7 and C8 seems to imply that this would be okay, because that doesn't happen outside of the game insofar that this thread and the game thread are both part of the game and neither of them are off-site, but I'm not totally sure that that's considered acceptable. that's one of the areas where the generally accepted site status quo have expanded significantly in the 8 years that I was away from the site, so I'm not totally sure whether actions like that are okay or not.

seen what used? I'm not sure I follow.

followup question: is it fine if I have a particular image as a signal? it would be a reasonably large, noticeable animated gif, so it's something that should be noticeable to everyone playing (unless someone's using Lynx as their web browser, I guess???). if that's alright I'll post the image I'm thinking of using here. otherwise I think I'll just stick with a single one-word sentence that means "I think you should bus me now".

cool okay here it is:

Image

again, this image will serve as an indication that I believe you should bus me. (of course, feel free to do whatever feels correct in your playstyle--I won't freak out if you bus me before I use this, although I might use it to affirm that I agree that it's the right choice)

that's fine. if we need a backup of some sort (say the tide shifts and it's better to switch who's bussing whom) I'll suggest the sentence "okay????" with 4 question marks.

also this is a very elaborate system for probably very little pay-off, but it's an idea I've had since coming back to the site that I've not seen implemented anywhere. we'll see how it goes, I guess (assuming either of us even actually ends up needing use it—ideally, we can avoid this sort of signaling altogether, but it's a nice backup option)

anyway I think I'll probably maybe be asleep when the game starts so I'm not gonna get the chance to say much more here until night 1 (assuming we both survive until then!) so good luck!!! this should be fun.

I'm really curious how all of the people who said that they'd read me as town if keyenpeydee flipped scum will feel about me tomorrow. obviously unless things shift significantly there's a good chance that I'll be lynched tomorrow, and while it would make sense for you to be on my wagon, I don't think you should start out hard on that wagon.

rb seems like a safe-ish night kill if we want to just kill someone who most everyone is town reading, which seems like a safe plan; I don't think killing someone who's more divisive makes sense right now.

if I do survive day 2, I think we should both hold off on voting anyone and just wait for any of the other three players to vote each other, but we can wait until night 2 to plan that kind of thing out.

p-edit: the shoe promise? I mean, you did get a mod edit explicitly instructing you to eat no shoes, so I think you can get away with just a "well nevermind mod says no shoes on the menu tonight"

I'd personally prefer someone who most people are town reading over someone who is more neutral, although Alchemist is a good option in the neutral category. there are definitely more people in the "don't kill" category than in the "strongly consider killing" category.

I think that Comparing Realities is probably a poor choice; a couple people are scum or null reading him, whereas basically everyone is town reading rb. although CR said he was scum lean reading you, so maybe eliminating someone who might push for your lynch is a good idea? I'd rather kill rb first though.

Mas y Menos also pointed out some posts of yours as scummy, so I think it's best to treat pressure on you as a possibility.

I can't think of any that were really significant that aren't obvious that we need to specifically focus on tonight or tomorrow.

that's one thing I've not thought about at all; I'm personally kind of tempted to wait for other people to make their move and then try to be second on a viable bandwagon.

In post 40, Gamma Emerald wrote:Okay. I say if anyone starts to really suspect one or both of us, we bus, and only then.
that sounds like a good plan. if we get to day 3 with both of us alive, we basically just have to wait for anyone to vote for a townie, and then we can both jump on that at the same time.

that seems like a good opening post. I might respond to that by complaining about the self hammer and how that's bad for the town. I'll probably also push heavily again for the idea that we should be doing reads lists that are in two categories (scum/not scum) and lynch the person who people find second scummiest. I might actually do a reads list like that in my very first post but not vote immediately. if I do, I'll put you in the "scum" portion of it, but it'll be a 4:3 split, so it'll be easy to potentially bus you if needed. I'd suggest not following along with the 2-category reads list thing unless 1-2 other people agree to doing that. I think I made a fairly convincing argument that that's good for the town yesterday, but (spoiler warning)
I totally don't think that at all

I think Mas y Menos will be an easy one to push for definitely. BTD6_maker and Alchemist21 are secondary possibilities, I think. BlackStar and Comparing Realities seem like pretty unlikely options.

also I just realized it should be a 3:3 split since I shouldn't be in my own reads list, lmao. I hadn't actually thought seriously about that since obviously it's not a genuine list.

also, I'm thinking this for my scum/not scum list: (Alchemist21, Gamma Emerald, Mas y Menos)/(BlackStar, BTD6_maker, Comparing Realities). sound good to you?

cool, seems good. of course, we'll see whether everyone else is into the idea of doing these 3:3 reads lists...

ah okay. yeah that makes sense. alright, I'll lay out the plan for the 3:3 reads list early, but won't actually post my reads until there's a consensus about doing that.

aaaaah okay. although I might suggest doing it popcorn style, because that's generally perceived as good for the town for things like these.

anything that involves mentioning another specific game in a game thread is a thing you should avoid doing, so no.
