when i was shot, i was very happy. i thought the scum would realize i was lying about not knowing why there was no kill... that's why i entertained the idea of SlySly scum from Stargazer's claimed roleblock on night 1. when a kill shot fails, it's BP or doctor. there was no evidence i was protected by a doctor.

i thought the town wouldn't suspect me of being the traitor if i told them so directly.. i didn't realize i would trick the scum too. i think i banked too much on the scum figuring they had a traitor. i brought it up specifically so i could be mildly scumread for my dumb gambit.

Also the item I got let me skip any phase day or night so yeah it was pretty powerful

bad time to give up. it's one thing for scum to hammer themselves when they're not the last scum, but ending it at this point leaves a bad taste in my my mouth. fight until the end, next time.

This entire game's left a bad taste in my mouth, really. I have to admit that the possibility of you actually being a Traitor didn't cross my mind... then again, neither did Dunn having a gamebreaking item, I figured it was a Doctor protect or something.

Not shooting Creature was some combination of the possibility he was 1-shot, knowing Math had a PR, and the probability that Creature was protected anyway.

Even with the Traitor, I don't really see us having any kind of legitimate chance of finding the requisite mislynches here. I mean... Creature and Grapevine are out, Lane getting on the Sly wagon d1 with Star was incredibly unlikely, there's no way Dunnstral-scum would have used that item like that. Expedience and Sly were vaguely possible, but with you gunning for my hide...

Honestly, I conceded to give a possible (though unlikely) third party the best possible chance to win - a town which lynches Gamma and shoots Infinity doesn't get many marks from me.

This item will allow you a one time use of watching a person to see who visited them that night.

This item will only show you phone activity.

Trojan

This item will allow you to kill a player at night.
This item can only be used during the night.
This action doesn't go through protection type actions/abilities.

DDos

This item stops a player from posting/viewing/and voting for a day phase.
This will be publicly announced and the player cannot be lynched for that day or be counted towards vcs.
This item can only be used during the day.

Zombie

This item will allow you to direct a person night action one time.
This will not interfere with a persons phone or item actions.
This item can only be used during the night time.

System Scan

This item will tell you what current items exist in the game, but only their names not abilities.
This will not tell you of past items used nor any future items.
This can be used during night or day.

Honeypot

This item will stop any night action to be performed on you.
Any players visiting you will fail their action for the night.
This doesn't include phone actions.

Blackout

This item will abruptly end the current phase when used.
This item can be used during night or day.

Mac

This item will turn a player hated for a day phase.
If used at night it will make player hated following day.

[3 Items on Day 1] Traitor gets Tracker, Hated goes to Town Bodyguard, Virus goes to Roleblocker Goon

[2 Items on Night 1] Follower will get DDos, #1/2 VT will get 1 Shot Commute

[3 Items on Day 2] Vigilante goes to Modified VT #3/2/1, Lover will go to Modified Goon/Roleblocker Goon, Lover will go to Cop/VT 2/3

[2 Items on Night 2]. Modified VT #2/1/3 gets System Scan, VT 2/3/1 will get Redirector

[3 Items + Event Day 3] items are given out by players who can hack the Government Blume database available to all players. Each security slot will have an item.
Players will be informed which security slots have been hacked and if it was successful. [Slot 3 will have Tracker, Slot 2 will have Watcher, Slot 1 will have Blackout]

the reason i talked about in-thread for it were my real reasons.
if i'd just picked one scum (and it would have Infinity, and i would have been wrong there!) then i ran the chance of hitting town accidentally and getting immediately lynched.
i really did try to disguise my traitor claims with other messages.

i wasn't expecting the scumteam to say 'oh yes, we've found our traitor' and message me back with a scumclaim and team names, i was mostly hoping to signal that i knew there was a traitor because i

was

their traitor.

there was also the day ending, then night being cut short, all while i was gone. i was gone at a bad time, and i'm annoyed at myself for that.
i was going to message Aquanim on day 3 and try again, but ran out of time.

Giving players a hack once per day/night phase would be a neat way to do it. Alternatively, make it a non-consecutive action.
As always, with unique mechanics, design the mechanics first then build the roles around the mechanics.
As always with cops, they are a role I don't like a ton. Makes the game more mechanical than rhetorical, imo.
I enjoyed this game. Hydra'ing with grapes was a fantastic time, too.

I would've wanted an NC lynch down the line. The amount that they were sticking up for me along with calling the Creature clears into doubt, coupled with claiming traitor to people? Far too sketchy.

I paid like no attention to setup but looking at everything yea probs a touch swingy. I think the traitor + phones was a cool touch. Infinity if I had been at my computer I wouldn't have let varsoon shoot ya that's my bad.

Chara played well but that mostly came from me nodding along with aquanim push. Which is a tough break right there on it's own.

i wonder how differently things would have turned out if so many major events hadn't happened while i wasn't here. i suppose that's how blitz games go.

i put... a lot of stock into the scumteam figuring out there was a traitor. i mean, private communication lends itself really well to that, and i was excited.

i think an unlimited cop + a bodyguard is too much. very swingy, yes.

If i were to do it again I would definitely have weakened the cop and give the scum more hacks to steal away powers.

Trying super-hard to lynch the person you believe to be your last remaining partner didn't really telegraph Traitor to me, to be honest.

also thought about fake-claiming an item that would let me know if a player has access to a private thread or not. decided against it for a few reasons.

pedit: i wasn't sure if you were my partner. i was kind of hoping you weren't. i was wrong about Infinity, and i also thought PantherPunt was town. i wasn't going to trust my scumdar on my last buddy.

Yeah, there was 3 modified VTs in the game.
All of them just had various changes to their phone functionality.

what did the scumteam think about their failed night 1 kill? i was expecting messages about it that i never got. did you think i had been doctor protected?

i screwed up with the Aquanim scumread. i had good guesses for scum in Expedience, and grapevines was actually pinging me a lot, strangely. i was more convinced Infinity was scum than Aquanim/House when i decided to do my gambit and it really hurt me.

Every game, some Cop or 'confirmed town' avoids being killed solely because scum WIFOM themselves and end up making bad decisions for it.
As far as the Infinity kill, it was justified. It cut down on slots people weren't sure about and, I feel, propelled me into being mostly townread.
Sorry I couldn't impress you and make this a game where town wins 100% due to their roles and not due to their rhetorical play.
