Probably because it would just encourage people to shitpost bad catchphrases in hopes of getting a title.
I still think it's an actually decent title, as it is his phrase, and everyone knows it, but not only does he use it now, but many others are. It's caught on because of him, making it more relevant to the site and thus more worthy of being a title.

And no, this isn't me supporting a title I think is bad just because. I actually mean this.

Yeah, the "and they don't stop coming" thing is kind of lame. I don't think even anyone has imitated it once (which is when you know it has hit meme status) where as aren't we all has been repeated by probably over dozen users.

Sure it does! Every time something repetitive happens. Every time something looks dead but comes back. Every time someone won't let a stupid argument go. Etc etc. There are many times, especially with the nature of this sire, that it would fit. It could be used when people are tunneling or exaggerating or making false claims or whatever.

But it's not catchy.

You make it sound so harsh, but that's exactly the point. It's funny when McMenno does it. It's catchy when he does it. It doesn't work for a lot of other people, but this phrase, his phrase, works on this level. That's why it's more noteworthy. That's why it's spread. That's why it's title worthy!

I don't see why McMenno is more catchy than other users.

Weeks of debate went into trying to get InflatablePie the title of "Except when he does" because it was a catchphrase among people who regularly meet-up. Now all the regular Title Fairy barflies haven't heard of it.

It proves my point that catchphrase titles are fleeting, forced, and bad.

I could if you like.
"Aren't we all" is just as multifunctional as other phrases, yet it catches on better. Why is that? Perhaps because it is a phrase with which one self identifies with when stating it. The user has no choice but to put themselves into the situation in order to use it, as they are owning their own participation. This is absent in many other phrases, like "And they don't stop coming" which is more of a passive statement. It is an outward commentary, so the thrill of making a personal statement is lost.

McMenno has a way of saying it that reads very well too. I don't know what it is about it, but it meshes with his general posting style and demeanor very well, and just feels right when he says it. It stands out without detracting from a conversation. It's a green light, not a red light to the flow of conversation. It can be poignant or subtle. Like, there's actually a lot that goes in to why it works the way it does, and why it has spread when many others do not.

If it were just a phrase that sprouted and spread with no solid base, or something that came from meme culture and was brought here, I would not be likely to nominate a user for a title related to it. But he brought it, made it his own, and we've watched it spread naturally to many around the site. This is what makes it Title-worthy!

But it's not just his catchphrase. It has spread to be a sitephrase.
I do see what you are saying, that such things may be somewhat fleeting. But when they catch on and spread, are they not something more?
