well jee i never thought of that. Not like I haven't been doin this for years




there was no crash log, the game froze for an hour on the blank screen before clicking on the join server button and being in the actual server. i forcestopped it with the kill command in the console. So i don't have a crash report.

Can you start a SP world? If it starts then it's less likely that this is just a case of not quite enough memory.

Recall that throwing too much RAM at Java will also cause crashing. Try reducing the dedicated RAM to just under what a single module of your hardware can support - for example, I have 2 4 GB modules; dedicating exactly or more than 4 GB could cause problems on my machine.

Y'all are missing the point where I have successfully connected to server 2 weeks ago and have changed nothing about my instance since then and this error. But I shall try reducing memory when I get home

Do you happen to remember where you were when you logged out the last time?
There are a couple of regions of chunks that lag spike upon entry. Tentative diagnosis is that it's spamming network updates to players in those chunks.

The modded server lag near spawn appears to be fixed by removing shelving units (from magneticcraft, I think).
ETL's lag in the swamp is probably from the same source. So once you've done the quest you shouldn't use those.
Besides they're reported as buggy anyway.

Bonus effect, I now have a shiny new Java profiler.

Im assuming you want to be on the vanilla server. There's 2 now, a vanilla server and a modded server.

I for a little bit was having issues with the game freezing and or crashing on connection to the server on my laptop. But I'd get connected. Hear a buzz which I think is caused by a generator but it's super loud(same noise happens on my desktop and I believe when playing sky factory with the mod that has survival generators). I've even seen my base occasionally before the crash. Don't think there were logs it's like it just disconnects me again, but I some how further broke the instance so I can't even recreate it now.

I have the noise thing too, even though nothing actually running at the location I login from. I think it has something to do with sound system init.
Modded didn't even log you trying to connect. Not sure how to interpret that.

Probably best to stick with vanilla. Trying to figure out an effective way to run conduit without being a giant eye sore is fun.
