"I haven't seen this many tear-stained dollar bills since my dad hired a stripper for my uncle's funeral" is a fantastic line.

MOD: Yeah, that's a great one. I personally don't think that the pre-1k comics have as many good lines as the later ones (I like 1800ish through about 3000 the most, personally), but it did have some amazing ones.

It's about leaning on the the words themselves to build a case. Everything is a 'misrep' to the other party, and all votes can be called 'opportunistic'.
not everything should be a misrep to the other party; no reason why two arguing people can't understand each other
all votes can be called opportunistic, but there's a big difference between an scummily opportunistic vote and a vote that pushes someone close to a lynch

the miller claim could be town or scum, it's not alignment indicative unless you have knowledge on kraska as a player
"laughing at Lady's claim" is quite possibly the least alignment indicative to happen in thread at that point so no using it as a reason to read someone doesn't make any sense

LLD, SpyreX, JaeReed, let's lynch some scum; MoI I would invite you to join but we all know you move when you're damn ready and I know you have a particular dislike for continuous promises and repeated not doing shit and you're about to get two handfuls of that shortly. JaeReed I know you probably want some guidance to rescue you from that dark world of your MoI world but as I still haven't caught up with the game completely I need you to talk about MoI before I can make that dream a reality.

oh, and LLD?
me ignoring you isn't significant until the game's actually begun.

Nacho, I'm going to make this perfectly clear: I don't townread you. Stop trying to buddy up to me.
dark world of that MoI read*
I'm not trying to buddy you; when buddying, I try to aim for more "lovable" and "charming" and less "obnoxious substanceless asshole". Instead, since I thought you were in the business of attempting to read me, I tried to open up a line of communication by challenging you on your MoI read; why didn't you talk about your read there?

When someone says they are "unsure of what to comment on", typically they mean that they don't see anything alignment-indicative to comment on.
Why would they care about commenting on anything else?

The boring thing. Generally, town end up sticking their necks out someway, somehow. This is what make their posts interesting. When they don't, their posts are boring. Now, sometimes I give people the benefit of the doubt; some people have a way of viewing the world that doesn't mesh with mine and doesn't pique their interest. However, the people who view the world like that and people who would name themselves Lil Uzi Vert typically don't interact much. Does that answer your question?

Every couple of years, there comes a player who as scum is very, very uncomfortable playing scum and not so uncomfortable playing town. When they play town, the relief in their posts in tangible; they are not particularly difficult to find. When they play scum.... promises of catch up and good posts and then more promises of catch up and good posts and then nothing. That's what you're seeing here. You can wait as long as you'd like for evidence to stack up, but this is the sort of lynch that you thank the shiny mafia gods is happening for the good of your team because being completely unable to defend a partner because there is no good counterargument to "this is their scumgame" sucks ass.

The wagon expanded. Perhaps to Nacho's chagrin?
If I vote a partner, I'm willing to lynch a partner.
If you're posturing for suspicion on me, I'd recommend dropping your "sheep to read" method and instead going all-in on getting me lynched; my dancing partners of late have been more frustrating than competent and it'd be a nice change of pace to deal with someone with a sense of rhythm. That invitation extends to LLD, of course, although I would be a bit surprised if her scumread still holds once she's comfortable in the game again.

Heavy odds on Ari being scum.
You're absolutely correct that I would bus the shit out of Ari if I were scum here; in addition, I wouldn't push a lynch like this unless I had a level of confidence that was particularly unusual for mafia games. Why have you decided to vote me for it? Because I'm not giving Aristo enough time? That implies the argument that everyone needs a set amount of days before lynching them, and no, I don't really think that's the case; experience can dictate otherwise and here it does.

I can't say I care considering it's sure as shit not going to save him and it's sure as shit not going to buy Jae cred - sometimes town dithers over an easy decision even when the answer is hitting them in the face, and sometimes, in the special case of Socrates, town takes a very simple decision and does something... weird? Not at all.

I already stated that you were below null before your vote on me.
Hmmm. It seems like your early game were a lot of interactions that seemed like they went kind of funky because of bad communication; I'll do a bit better in being clear when responding to you because I can't imagine that my current approach is helping.

For one, when I don't contribute more, I can't. Sometimes other things come first, other times I'm just fucking tired, other times I end up procrastinating too much; these are things I shouldn't fuck up on, but I do and it's not particularly tied with alignment (I enjoy both sides of the game enough and am comfortable enough posting on either side where I don't dread making a post because of my alignment). My approach with Aristo is based on experience; I've been scumpartners with him once, everyone knew that he lurked as scum, everyone picked up on him lurking as scum, scumpartners told him to post more, he essentially couldn't. When I've played with him as town (a couple times, a few times), he's seemed town/I've locked down a townread on him fairly early. I think that he has a significant weakness in his scumgame and I think this weakness is magnified by pressure. I think his initial approach "I just got here!" without doing something is fairly damning in and of itself but it's not like he hasn't gotten a chance to do something; I'd give more benefit of the doubt if I wasn't familiar with his game, but I am and I don't see any reason offering it.

As for my approach to you, it's probably accurate to say that I'm buddying in that I'm tailoring my play to communicate better with you and you specifically; assigning that to scum motivation because "buddying" is a common tell will not give you much accuracy in general since it's an integral part of my style. I'd expect you to be familiar with this approach based on our first game together based on my shameless buddying of several key players, hence my initial response to you being as dismissive as it was; if it came off as rude, it wasn't my intention (although I imagine my style this game will probably end up being a bit grating), and if there's something you want me to slow down and talk about seriously, just let me know.

Just post. Let it out, let the worry go. If you end up getting modkilled because you don't meet DS's vision of your role, then no one will blame you; lord knows I probably would have been modkilled three times over if our roles were reversed.
There are many punishments for not obeying the rules.

My need to obey mine is rather
obsessive
. You might say that I have a
compulsion
.
Point taken.
We need to put in work to find a work around, though; I don't think cycles of misery and frustration are what you're supposed to experience in this particular game.

MOD: Can you guys stop trying to "out-smart" me? I'm being serious here.

I mean of course there's the "trying to make it as short and painless as possible" thing, but I can't say I've ever been a fan.

and also point out that if "we have the same reads!" is a post that makes you back off something then your original push wasn't overly solid

It is SO hard to take that kind of play seriously. Apparently the scummiest thing is to say someone is scummy. Its the theme of this game. I don't even need to vote them.. just MENTION that I think they are scummy.
except one look at both our isos will reveal the gospel truth
we've been sccumreading you throughout while youve undulated from townreading to scumreading us
your scumreads continue to look sketchy
hey kraska friend come talk to me about your "us" wrt dunnstral; dunny didn't do shit and you're already ride or die on him?

well this time you got to wait for me to catch up in thread and be my beautiful self and if we didn't wait for Aristo to replace in we would have missed out on taking the easy layup which we might still miss if you don't fix your failvote and make it a proper L-1

Not really. I've read a good chunk of recent comics and a good chunk of old comics but I'm missing a huge chunk in the middle. I thought people would hate me if I kept reading instead of posting :(
