uggh not sure how long it takes to get a passport or how much, but it will take weeks for sure.

Says 4 to 6 weeks on the sites I looked at, plus of course I have to apply in person. I will need to pay for and wait for a certified Birth Certificate, plus of course my new NY ID card since the one I have here is made of cardboard and I am not gonna spend the money needed to get a replacement here. (They never sent me the permanent one it got lost in the mail.)

This though is really sucky

If you cannot remove your glasses for medical reasons, please include a signed note from your doctor with your application.

So I will need a doc to certify that I am 70% f***ing blind so I can see to have my photograph taken? WTF? Oh yeah nothing about hearing aids, so guess I should call them and ask about that.

So yeah probably need to figure on at least 3 to 4 months to allow time for new ID, certified birth cert from California, and so on. I may get the birth certificate early though just in case there is an issue with my stupid TN ID being cardboard. I want that NY ID ASAP because I want something more like my old ID not like the one they have here in TN uggh.

Without my glasses everything beyond a few inches from my face is a total blur the further away it is, the blurrier it is, I will just get a doc certificate that would be easier. Besides I am always wearing glasses so it makes more sense for me to have them if you want the pic to really reflect how I look.

I definitely won't be going every bit of extra right now is focused on the #GreatEscapetoBuffalo project (basically my visit up there around the last weekend of April and either before or after that, plus the move in June or July). Once I am living there one of my first goals is to spend the money (and time) to get a passport since I have many friends in Canada and several of them are in places that would be fairly easy to get from Buffalo (like Toronto).

I will be there in spirit though and be envious of the good time you all will have.

me too, and yeah hopefully at some point we can get something going in Buffalo as well.

Just have to not split my money and focus too much atm, I want out of TN and into my new place in Buffalo ASAP, then I can work on the passport dealie.
