I don't see how it is defensive at all, really. My view is that his approach+ hostility about my position is weak BS and feels like it could be scum trying to make me look nefarious when my position was outward and honest and reasonable at that point in the game. In general, anyone pushing anyone to vote that early in the game gets scumpings.

okay my scumreads are usually nothing great, but theres always this one strong gut scumread i have that people refuse to lynch for a long time and i have to yell to get them lynched and these always flip scum and this time it's trancend. i'll try to explain why he's scum although i know i really suck at making cases

wow you sound quite a bit like me. though I have gotten better at making cases the more I try (and the more I try to make them more succinct, which is often a problem. I have so many floating thoughts around my reads and how they interact, it is hard to slim it down into sentence structure.)

I have to say even though I don't have a lot of experience with transcend, that this is how I was feeling as well (not the scumgut hardread like you have about it, but the "hmm, this transcend feels a bit stiff like he's trying to copy how he normally would be") - I temper that with my limited experience but then paired with the actual other things from him, he still pings scummy, and like he's trying to sound town (I'll point out the next LAMIST post I see of his.)
