N1 can be explained in a couple of ways to fit with an unfortunate sk. Given Pine's role, I don't see why mafia wouldn't have tried to kill the cop claim. So there may have been some kind of save on him. The other kill could have been soaked by Jackel or us. The only thing Jackel did was try to lynch Algebra.

A town joat/vig could justify the bp too.

These may be fringe scenarios, but I don't think mafia was given bp for no reason other than baiting them into claiming it.
