sensfan33 on MODO. I mostly play Pauper and Standard, but am looking forward to Cubing once the Cube drafts start firing.

I've been having some fun messing around with RG Werewolf beats in casual games.

Thanks for the tip, Shea. I haven't been on in a couple of weeks or so.

Surprisingly enough, that's not actually a great card for Constructed Magic.

A decent rule of thumb is to just snap-take any card worth enough money to pay for your draft.

Probably fastest is to grab a friend who knows how and play IRL.

Next best is to go on to Magic Workstation or Cockatrice and get someone here to teach.

Or play Elements as Reck suggests. I played a friend I met on Kongregate who was an Elements pro and he raped me the 2nd time I played him on cockatrice. Apparently they're really similar and if you're good at one you're good at the other.

TSQ Have you gone infinite or something? I've been thinking about getting onto MTGO since none of my friends play that much anymore...but isn't it really expensive to play in tourneys/make decks to keep up with the standard rotations every time?

Unless you have some Modern deck you have to donate? lol I prefer playing eternals.

Pauper is a really cheap format to get into (obviously), and you can get some very high winrates if you know the format well. I really enjoy playing it, too (except for against URPost, but that's mostly due to deckchoice).

Also @Sensfan: do pauper tourneys require tickets too? Or is it just a casual room where you go around playing randoms for no prize?

There are Casual and Tournament Practice rooms where you can play people with no stakes. But I was talking about the 2-man Pauper queues that cost 2 tix and pay out a pack; I think it's M12, but don't quote me on that.

Time Walk is a powerful card.
Auto-mull to 6 is a terrible side-effect.

The very top players tend to go out of the way to minimize luck and increase consistency. Having cards that go from very strong to completely dead is in direct contrast with that.

Someone help me build a zombie deck. It's my favorite. I've had it since Legions but as a tribe it's generally been outclassed. (Eg Goblins/Elves in Legions cycle & Vampires in later sets...)

Is U/B Neccisarily better than Monoblack? Also just how many lords should I cram into it? lol

Do you play casual, or should the deck be legal in a specific sanctioned format?

Depends on the format, but I'm /in for Netdraft at some point. Haven't done any drafting of DII though.

Emrakul doesn't need Haste to end the game if it resolves. Hell, you probably win from the time you hardcast it
before
it resolves.

Have neither of you played Emrakul? The game ends before your opponent ever gets to untap.

That was an example of a legitimately stupid rules hole that needed to be closed, unlike combat damage on stack, which had real uses.

Are you sure that no longer applies? As far as I know, if I Giant Growth my Mutavault and then re-activate the ability on Mutavault, I have a 2/2.

I believe if you draw your cards before deciding to play or draw you auto-play. I don't know of any rule about it stopping you from being able to mulligan, though.

what's the best format to play in order to try and break even/play for free?

Most Constructed formats will allow good players to freeroll.
Even the pros generally have a hard time making tix off Drafts.
