So you're saying your role has an effect when you pledge, because there's no actual difference in public information for both these effects. Either way, if it succeeds you can't use it with someone else, and either way, you don't know what will happen .

Knightmares= immunity to most geass powers. It seems quite foolhardy to tell scum who they shouldn't use their geass powers on.

Nope.

In terms of action resolution, yes, but during the day you choose whether or not to have a knightmare on. I'll ask FA to clarify, but I believe that means you'll either start the night in your knightmare, or out of it. If you're in it, you are not a legal target for most geass powers, and are therefore immune to them...however, geass powers will RESOLVE before nightmare powers.

So, as I see it: Alice and Bob are in Knightmare, while Candice has a Geass power that she really wants to use to kill Alice.

Candice tries to kill Alice, but because she's in a Knightmare, it doesn't work.

Now the next night, Bob KNOWS Candice wants to kill alice, but he thinks she's using a k ightmsre power to kill her, so he theries theries use his redirection to make Candice actually shoot herself. However, since Candice is using a Geass power, it resolves on whoever her target is, BEFORE bobs redirection changes the target. If that target was in a Knightmare, it'll fail. If they weren't, barring other factors, it'll succeed.

And behind all of this is Danny the jailkeeper, without geass or knightmare, whose protection will never affect anyone if theyre using or targeted by a Geass or knightmare power.

This is mostly a scum favored mechanic. Unless you're CERTAIN the person you're making a topic with is town, I don't recommend that anyone steal anyone else's hat.

It makes any scum slot who succeeds in getting paired with town vengeful, while making it quite likely that town will screw up and kill off one another.

Having PTs with certain people can be very helpful for coordinating things, but again, I find it more likely that this will hurt town rather than help them.

Drixx and I probably won't be attempting to steal anyone's hat for that reason.

This isn't a PT chain Titus. If you could go find a new partner and spread coordination, the value would be much higher. As stated though, all it does is allow scum to give themselves extra kills, while town end up with single use vigs that I expect them to misuse.

i just don't see the town motivation in concluding that random needs death, as opposed to simply letting the matter rest and coming back to it as the game develops. you don't have compelling reasons to call him either alignment, and saying he'd just be mislynched if town is remarkably premature in my opinion.

Since you took the time to go look into it, you can easily confirm that I did indeed V/LA from Christmas through the 3rd. I think it's not terribly unreasonable for it to take a day for me to get up to speed on 2,000 posts and then talk with Cerb about it. One of the things that people who oppose hydras complain about is dissonance, and so we have always gone out of our way to discuss games actively and if you take even a moment to read one of our completed game hydra PTs you'll see the amount of work we put in.

So hold your horses and let us have a moment. Perhaps the holidays were not busy for you, but I went to see my aging parents for the first time in years and for the first time in a decade I didn't take even a laptop with me and just enjoyed time disconnected from the internet and all that goes with it. If you can't be reasonable about that, I have to wonder what your motive actually is. I mean ... it's day one. I'm discussing a one way mason effect, where someone else would be conftown to just me.

That means that one of two things happen.

1) They townread me and lie and claim we're full masons
2) More likely, they don't lie and I just claim that they're confirmed town to me at some point.

In the event of 2, that power doesn't actually do ANYTHING mechanically until I become confirmed town, which will usually occur when I flip...however, this is a bastard game, so it's possible that my flip WON'T confirm them as town like it would in a normal game.

The point was that the role isn't very strong in normal circumstances, and in a bastard game it's even weaker.

Now, at some point I have to confirm that you're town to the game. This happens 100% of the time.

What does me saying that you're conftown to me do to the game when my alignment is an unknown? Nothing. It makes it probable that you're town, but not certain, which means mechanically your slot is still a potential mislynch.

It isn't until I flip as town that your slot becomes conftown.

That's the normal course of things, and it's fairly weak.

In a bastard game, either you or I could have an alignment change at some point, thus negating the confirmation I received, OR making it so when I flip, you remain a potential mislynch.

The other possibility is that when I tell the game that you're conftown per mod communication, you claim that it's because we're masons, thus taking us both off the lynch table. I wasn't suggesting this WOULD happen, merely mentioning it for the sake of thoroughness.

He's saying that whatever role he is is normally meh, but really meh here. He's acknowledging that there may be alignment changes, but that a Masonizer or friendly neighbour should be immune to alignment changes. So if he is linked with, he will confirm you as town verbally even if not by flip, and we should all assume he is telling the truth.

However he could just be a traitor asking to be targetted by scum in an indirect way, as he seems pretty certain he's gonna be the one who changes alignments if anyone.

This came up because I asked anyone who has an ability to confirm themselves as town privately, through the loyalty mechanic, to pledge to me. So I wasn't talking about MY ROLE, but rather about the sort of role that I would like to pledge to me, so that way I know the person pledging to me is town.

We are a noble, of course. We have the passive ability Royal Execution, where upon our first death, the killer or hammer (it actives on nk or lynch) dies in place of us and does not flip.

Why didn't you only claim that your kill occurred on hammer?

Actually, painbringer, you should hammer CD if we want to be sure he'll die. First death ability triggers, killing you, and you can then trigger your lover ability and kill them.

Or if someone is immune to shit like they at least one time they should volunteer.
