I just discovered this game today and it looks like alot of fun.

Not like the 63 pages to this thread don't speak for itself, but its it easy to just pick up and play? So if I got it and jumped in with you guys I wouldn't be just eons behind? :/

I don't have the game yet. I've been playing the demo and its pretty cool.

I lured a couple cows and sheep back into their stalls in Claus' farm.

The railroad to the tundra is ALMOST complete. About 1-2 stacks of rails should do the trick. (Minus powered ones, which I'll figure out next. They can run on coal for the moment.)

OH. After falling to my death in the firemoat because of those pressure plates I took them out. We can still control it from the levers, but after drowning myself in lava (losing a stack of rails I picked up ONE BY ONE from an abandoned mine) I took them out.

Speaking of the tundra, who else lives up there? The tundra to the NE of the village- someone had gotten to a couple caves and lit them up, so I'm just curious.

I get there and there's 3 following me.
So I try to lure the red one into his pen. NOPE GOT BLUE.
So I get blue out and try again.
NOPE GOT LIGHTER BLUE.
So I get him out. Then I try Blue.
NOPE GOT THEM ALL IN.
So try again and get only Blue in.
Then I feed him the wheat (still don't know how I did that) and the other two ran off.

My pirate ship is complete-ish. Beautification and Naturalization will be the final steps.
My /home is set to the pirate ship, but my /suicide is still set to my tundra home because its the last bed I've slept in.
So I've *sorta* got easy jumps to all of my houses.

Finally, I found an abandoned mineshaft in the lagoon under my pirate ship. I'm going to raid it soonish- anyone who wants to help would be welcome. <3

Orange is just to ensure I get most of my tundra still- I plan on expanding further with a walled fort-type thing. Basically I'd like to keep the tundra up to that river where it turns into a desert.

What I REALLY need is to make a grand home base instead of having half my stuff on a boat in a tree and half my stuff out on the ice. :/

ALSO I know FishytheFish owns some sort of Jungle Temple out to the east- I don't know exactly where but he's spent alot of time on it so don't shrink the server until he gets to mark it.

edit: I don't use texture packs because I don't know how to download them. >_>

Underground railroads are the way to go, barring the few obvious problems with doing so.
We also have a set of warps (not to mention /home and /back) for easier travel to common hubs.

There's a few underwater caves around the boat that UT and I ransacked, though the main cave is so big that we couldn't do it in one trip/life.

Yes, the server was "better" in its infancy- the world was new and the people who were playing then got all the toys. Regenerating the server is not making the minecraft world any more 'sustainable' for newer players to join or older players to return- it will simply allow for new people to become the "upper class" of the server.

I apologize if this sounds very much like a "get off my lawn" argument (which it isn't meant to be) and I like many of the newer players I've met such as Fizz and Clammy. I just don't think this is for the best for all of us.

I'll even offer :solutions:!
1) If you want to go back to a vanilla setting then maybe what you should do is have Maru 'drop' everyone who wants to move to a far away place and let them take nothing with them. Boom, instant vanilla. It isn't fair to the older players or for infrequent players to not have a home to come back to. I feel that if you want a vanilla experience that dropping everything and walking into the woods is the best way to do it without ruining everyone else's fun. Example: Vineland.
2) I also liked that day where we did the Enderdragon Run, where we all (upwards of ten players) started off Vanilla and built all the way to the Enderdragon, complete with farmers, hunters, and miners.

3) Give me the ability to fly.

This post by Hiraki sums up my thoughts on getting "rich".

I understand the need to appeal to new constituents.
Hence why a Second "Spawntown" would be great- new people and those people who wish to move/build there would be encouraged. You could build a rail track to the new place from Spawn/SpawnTown so people could:
A) Visit the old SpawnTown
B) go to the new one if they are new and/or want a vanilla thing.

Trying to find good middle ground because alot of the existing stuff is awesome (Ex: everything Fishy touches).

Thinking about the birth of Spawntown- I think I was the first person to die in the Nether. >_>

I was going to argue with Hiraki's Spawntown1 and Spawntown2 but I think it all boils down to we don't know what we want.

There doesn't seem to be any consensus as to what the users of the server want/need, besides the need to have Spawntown exist for both the existing, returning, and future players. I'm simply trying to accomodate the desires of the players and it seems like a majority of the people are simply fine as it is. Aka we should just do nothing and let the server continue to run its course.

It doesn't matter if Spawntown isn't habited at all times. That's not the point of spawntown. The point of Spawntown is to have some place to come back to. People new to the server will be able to go there and find a safe place to stay. People returning to the server will find something familiar. And people who have left and done their own thing can come back to Spawntown knowing that:
A) everyone knows where it is and
B) everyone can easily get there (/warp spawntown)

Just because I left Spawntown doesn't mean I don't frequent it for the resources it provides- my first house, the farms, the item exchange, the many roads to other places.

Oh yeah I spawned on some snowy hill and wound up at Klaz's place, took a Nethertrip to Tierceland, and am squatting somewhere in her territory. I pillaged a desert I found through some LONG passage in the Nether and will EVENTUALLY begin to make a place of my own, probably off the coast of Tierceland since I don't want to go exploring TOO FAR.

I miss playing with people though.

And I died when I tabbed out to respond to a Skype message.

Got bored of being alone in Multiplayer so I went to be alone in SOLO SUPERFLAT.

Guess what it gave me:

You are looking at SUPERFLAT mode, with a sizeable chunk of NOTFLAT. It spans from that jungle tree on the right to a small desert area on the left. The water is perfectly preserved. The biome itself is no more than 20 blocks wide, with the jungle tree being cut in half. (Instead of a 2x2 base its a 2x1 base- cut directly in the middle.)

Despite this, the rest of it SEEMS to be SUPERFLAT. I might actually swap over to SURVIVAL and see how far I get. XD

But unless there's a good amount of people here I don't see myself coming back because nothing can replace romping through unexplored caves with UT and Rhinox screaming YES THERES A CREEPER BEHIND ME.

Like, Ender Run was perfect because we did it in like, 5(?) hours with ten people.
We all worked together to accomplish the goal.
Idk what everyone else did but I was the food provider and the run into dark places and scream if there's bad stuff or not guy.

Skill not necessarily required because we're all working together and even in food procurement there's room for innovation like the chicken/egg farm etc etc

Yeah what if we just did an Enderdragon Run starting from scratch on a vanilla server? Aren't there two bosses now too?

We don't all have to be online at the same time necessarily, but we all work towards the goal for a week or so?

I mean its infinitely more fun with everyone together in a Skype call for a few hours, but people have lives etc.

RIP Silver.
We went on a long journey together like 2000+ units away from home in one direction and maybe 800 in the other. We found three pyramids and two NPC villages. I even found some Diamond Horse armor.

But Silver was not strong enough to fjord across an ocean after riding all day and night for a few days.
So I made the long boat ride alone.

But I have Diamond Armor now so the next horse

I won't let Prozac tell me to left click

will be super stocky.

Oh I should probably mention that I used ~30 IRON to make an ANVIL.

There wasn't much room in the house so I put the ANVIL down in my secret hidey-hole.
