But unless I massively misunderstood the game's nature: Pine did in fact get a choice in at least ONE scumbuddy, if not all three. (Something about a draft order.)

This is probably 100% accurate

was my original rival in games, presumably the reason why I didn't actually draw scum. (Which I'm taking as a huge fucking slight against me because he knows how much I would have wanted to be his scumbuddy here.) We fought endless times in games. He, along with Nacho, was one of my first friends upon his return to the site, in spite of him consistently creaming me in games where he drew mafia and I drew town. There's dozens of games spanning YEARS of history. Not one or two. Like, more games than y'all have played your entire mafia career on mafiascum, number of games.

Fuck though, this sounds sincere...
Imma have to reread our scumthread for Inorganic Chemistry (I think it was called that, my memory sucks! Whatever awesome game that was...) because I remember something about her being genuine and/or using it to her advantage in some way...

Also, I should probably mention that right now there's a softclaim or two I REALLY want to make--things that Pine wouldn't get, but at least one other player would. I can't give them yet, though, because one of said players in question would be Nacho. Who has a 50% chance of being conftown and a 50% chance of being confscum. I lean towards Pine picking Nacho first, but I don't know for sure. While in THEORY we could wait for nights to sort this out (when one dies via nightkill, lynch the other), but that might take a couple of night phases to actually happen by which point I'd probably be dead and that'd be less-than-ideal.

I think the simplest solution here is to just line up lynches. Lynch Nacho today. He flips town, you lynch me. I'll flip town, but then D3 you lynch Fate and 100% guarantee you, you'll have lynched scum.
He flips town, then while I'm not exactly conftown, Fate is. Any and all power we have should be directed towards keeping Fate alive at that point.

It sounds like one of the biggest bullshit reasons but you're a thorough player. If you're anything like me, you'd want to, as scum, to make sure the posts are absolutely perfect and you've made every point and there is no doubt or stone unturned that you haven't answered before it is asked. I sense the town because you're more nonchalant; as in the small mental stress of worrying about yourself and other people are not present to encourage you to make the post perfect.

This is quite interesting. Mastina sometimes will create a flaw in order for people to change their reads. It's a manipulative tool. I'm not seeing it in that way here, so I get what you're saying. If this were any other player, I'd be voting them right now, because they are showing such flaws in logic and understanding. But I know she doesn't work that way. Like, read our Scum thread from Inorganic Chemistry. She is meticulous. She exploits people's suspicions on herself and others. She is crafty AF!

Common misconception, but the proof is in the joindates that this isn't true.
If mastin2 was created because of Pine, then the joindate for that account would be spring of 2011, the date I misread Pine.
mastin2 was created on my one-year scumday, October 8th, 2009, before Pine had even signed up as a player on mafiascum.

That alone should show the evidence. There was always the intent for me to switch over to mastin2. There was always the intent for me to abandon the Mastin account. Pine gave me a convenient excuse to switch over, but it was going to happen sooner or later no matter what. He made it happen sooner, yes. That much of the story is true. But the idea that I switched to mastin2 because of the bet about Pine isn't true. It's a mafiascum urban legend.

I've gone over this in more detail before. Like, lots of times. Like here. And VERY thoroughly here. Probably elsewhere too.

I stopped scumreading Nacho. That could be a mistake, but all the same I did in fact stop.
I stopped scumreading Fate. I 100% KNOW that's a rational mistake ESPECIALLY given the lack of a Nacho scumread and the nature of Pine's picks, but for some reason I just didn't think he was scum when Nacho wasn't scum.
I stopped scumreading TheRealGin-N-Tonic. Their start for this game was atrocious, but their content has gotten stronger and stronger as the day has gone on. I know that they could be receiving coaching, and I KNOW that TheRealGin-N-Tonic went into this game not having read my theory work but by now has read most/all of it so no fucking duh would be getting better, but the amount of improvement this game is astronomical--I don't think that's how TheRealGin-N-Tonic would improve if actually scum.
I'm not scumreading Monokuma. The case people like Nacho and Fate push against them? Thoroughly makes me go, 'meh'. I mean, they're not exactly a shining beacon of towniness, either. And I know they have a strong scumgame. I just don't see their play here as actually being scum.

BTD6's posting has gotten weaker and weaker. But I haven't been scumreading him. His early posting felt incredibly sincere and surprisingly insightful--wrong, but at least doing shit which looked like it was something good.
Vaxkiller hasn't given me strong townvibes, but he hasn't given me scumvibes, either. The content he has given has made me lean towards town more than not, and I don't see the case for him being scum.
Prism's content has also gotten weaker than their strong start, but they did in fact have a strong start. I don't see this as a scumgame from them at all.
SirCakez is scummy, but I'm not scumreading him because this isn't his scumgame. He's town. His posting is town. While there are things he says which make me cringe on occasion, he's just town. Not scum. Just town.
drealmerz doesn't have a scummy bone in his body, aside from the lackluster strength behind his push on me and some tonal problems early-on, but both of those aren't things I actually had a problem with.

You, on the other hand: pisskop did nothing to make me think he was town, and was already plummeting down my readslist prior to your entrance into the game. Your entrance was null, so it didn't worsen the read, but because the above was happening, you moved into a POE scumread. And then when you add in your catchup, you get a serious scumread.

Really? I'm a PoE scumread? I agree PK was weak AF and I may have scumread him had I not gotten this slot. My entrench was Meh, because I've been busy. I couldn't turn down this game though! The playerlist is too amazing and Pine as a Scum Treestump is hilarious! Mastina should be playing better if scum, and I may change this read, but I can't ket her off the hook for this scummy AF play she's doing.

I'm not saying I'm ignoring mastina out of laziness or that it's impossible to glean alignment from their posts. First off, Pisskop was the beginning slot, he started out the game and continued the pattern of fluffing and frivolous shit posting. When he did post, there wasn't reasoning attached to it, all of them were baseless and were said to just be said.

It also doesn't help that the slot replacement, Ari can't play scum to save his life, in essence making it a suicide slot. The quotes I put in a spoiler, and really they are all his ISO, is literally no game contribution and doesn't address anyone game related.

Also a quick VCA is that scum will disperse their votes to hide in the crowd, so there will be 1/2 in the main wagons and 1/2 in a slot that's been voted once or they are the only vote. Now, looking at the babywagons that happened in D1, the beginning started with dreal and Fate.

Looking at that, Pisskop gave a weak reason which was really a hesitant question more than accusation and put his vote on dreal. The vote only moved from dreal to Fate and this occurred when Pisskop said, Fate was his top scum read, but again, there was no explanation attached to it, essentially making it a naked vote because it is knowingly implied that if you vote someone, it is because you think they are scum.

I am almost 100% confident that Pisskop has been staying off of the main wagons to avoid any serious attention and shitpost so you think to just ignore him.

I always find it to be awkward to reading someone who replaced out - that can generally be a tip off to weird RL shit and so being underwhelming and disappearing generally isn't a scum tell for me. But Aristophanes isn't playing like town, which is a shame because it would be a disappointment if Pine lost his ringer and instead got Aristophanes (who I love very much but who also lurks like crazy like scum for some odd reason).

But I do agree with you and mastina that his play looked like a caricature of his normal townplay and that nothing that he posted when he was here looked vaguely town.

I di agree that Dreal way exaggerated Nacho's "scumming it up" as I don't believe he had even had 2 posts at this time. It's a good observation. Nacho would also be one that Pine would want discredited early, as he is a fantastic player. So I definitely could buy it here.

I'm conflicted on it. I like that he's pointing it out. It's likely he has heard nacho's name thrown around. I know I did well before I ever played with him. He is talked about. I also like him calling out the unfair push on Nacho. It is part of why I scumread Mastina at the beginning. Because I just didn't see where any of it was coming from and it looked like a really opportunistic push.

What I don't like about it is that it doesn't actually take a stance. It's merely a fact post. Like "you are wrong because..." not "your pushing this is scummy because..."
It's a small distinction, but it does make a big difference sometimes.

Like I say, it gives me pause, but I do like that he called it out.
If he's scum, it'd be ballsy (though one must be in a game with this caliber of player in it).

On the posts he linked: The first one is bad, I totally agree. It was a bad idea to start a 1v1. Easy as that. Easy opinion.

The two where she was "crying about not being picked" were pretty standard "let me fill you in" posts, and the 2 "incomprehensible" ones were standard for Mastina. I know he probably has no experience on which to base this, but it's true, and I think it should have been deducible by that point.

I dislike the shit flinging and backing down at the end of the post. It all read a little weak and wishy washy, but to wnd it with "town-lite" seems like a cop out. Like an "I'm supposed to scumread you but I have to ease into it" kinda read.

Also, I hate that he called his Dreal "push" a death tunnel in multiple posts. It wasn't a death tunnel. It was barely a tunnel. It was a push and a read (barely). Overstating it was unneeded and reinforcing that overstatement just is weird. Too peculiar for my liking.

The first two linked posts are Meta reasons which, though weak, do have reasons to them. I like that he is scrutinizing strong players, but I wonder if he knows howstrong they are.
I don't like that he didn't link any "misinformation" and also that he accused Fate of not reading the thread at the same time. Like, the two kind of contradict each other, and there is no evidence provided for the former. He could have had a much more solid case had he put that effort in.

The links (4 succeeding posts) where Fate didn't answer him just sound butthurt on his part, but don't really strengthen a scumread.

His quote section is shit tbh. He is being nitpicky as fuck, and none of it is actually scummy. If you just assume Fate has an ego, all of this makes sense and is pretty much NAI.

Again, no explanation for Ari being 100% scum. Also, you claim Mastina is Town purely because she is hard to lynch. This is faulty logic and does not clear anyone. Mastina is being wagoned. Some wagons lead to a lynch; some don't. It is possible to consistently avoid lynches even with a wagon. Also, I am doubting whether what you say is actually true about Mastina. Provide evidence.In short, Ari is not confscum and this reasoning is terrible. On Day 1 we only have one guaranteed confscum, and that's Pine.

Conviction here is decent; I don't really have an impression of BTD6 as a player but again, based on his comment about his scum game earlier, the conviction expressed seems pretty strong for "I'm scared to share reasoning or else it be scrutinized".

It is definitely full of conviction, but Gin made it fairly obvious (at least on my end) that it was an verstated meta read because I have such a discernible scum meta.

Mono-Aero-Jin makes more sense to me as a Pine picked team, but I want to keep the Pine Wine in mind less so it can dictate our lynches now and more so it can help us reanalyze if everything goes horribly wrong.

You are probably assuming he is completely hopeless as scum and will lose practically all the time. This is false. He has a decent win rate as scum. You are both probably confirmation biased on that point (remembering scum losses rather than wins).

I liked this post a lot too; it shows he's doing research on his own into Ari.
And now that I have a much better Ari!town feeling, I think it's even better that this research is leading him to defend Ari.

It is NASTY.
It sets in fast--doesn't really tend to make you vomit, but it makes you wish you had. And then it lasts. And lasts. And lasts so long that you suspect you might have developed bronchitis or maybe pneumonia, but nope, it's just a really fucking bad flu.

Everyone in my family (except me) has gotten it.

The claim is all anyone should need, though. She's not going to claim something that confirmable as scum, and if she did, we can very easily find out if she was lying.

The chance of it being confirmed, even as town, is low. There is very little downside to claiming the variant she claimed as scum.

Redirections, roleblocks, or simply targeting scum all make the action fail, with us having no clue why it did. This makes it suboptimal to use N1 (See BTD6's policeman quote). Depending on how well partners fare later in the game, it may turn out to be advantageous to claim masons with one.

Ok; From my perspective, it doesn't make any sense that she could have made that up.
