Mine is pushing 2 years old as well. I've been toying with the idea of backing up, blowing everything out and reloading clean. Still up in the air as there is a noticeable increase in boot and load times but really no decrease in performance once things are loaded. Have to think on it some more.
My Uncle always use'ta say, 'You can't get no blood from a turnip.' .... He'd say the same thing about gettin' it from a stone, too.

I never said nothin' back to him. You don't want mess with no freak that's searchin' around that hard for blood.
That's generally how age affects things. Boot/load times can sometimes be improved by a defrag, but a defrag won't help if it's more a registry thing or just the weight of the accumulated stuff.
If cpu/graphics performance goes down over time it could be a heat issue, in which case opening it up and blowing stuff out can help -- once you're past the danger of a warranty issue if you care about that.

We re-genned the nether, after taking out most of the BoP nether biomes and correcting netherending ores.
Nether portal fix makes it so you go back to the place you entered the nether from. It does not give each of us a personal portal.
There is probably a way to do that by going to the nether, building a portal where yours should be, and going back through it to reconnect.
It may also be necessary to temporarily break the other person's portal.
I'll try that to see if it works.
At least you don't end up with not being able to get home at all...

Yeah, this is how you manage portal wonkiness without the fix mod, and it should still work.
Take the Overworld coordinates of your portal and divide the X and Z by 8, and you'll get the coordinates where you will want to put your portal in the Nether to get an auto-locked, two-way connection. It definitely will be necessary to break your OW portal's connection to another Nether-side portal, but you should be able to do that without touching anybody else's stuff.
Break any one Obsidian block connected to the actual portal blocks in your portal and it should deactivate.
Go into
somebody else's
OW portal and make your way to the coordinates where you want your Nether-side portal (the OW coords/8).
Build it, light it, but
do not go through it
.
Instead, go back the way you came and make your way back to your broken OW portal.
Fix it, light it, and go through it. It should connect to the lit-but-as-of-yet-unused-Nether-side-portal at the ideal coordinates.
Company i was buying from is shit and has false advertising and apparently isn't open to members of the armed forces. My paycheck is still set to send them the first payment but I'm not getting any product from them. They said they will refund me the money when it goes to them.
Tl;dr: maru *isn't* getting new computer and is sadpanda
Idk because they have shitty customer service who didnt want to help me when i had complaints and questions and shit.
Or shitty lending oractices that take advantage of customers and is illegal for military to be taken advantage of like that. Same as payday loans. Military can't get payday loans

No the military guarantees our payments. If we don't pay you send a ketter addressed to the commander of XXXX and then they remove my rank, restrict me to base for 45 days, give me extra work for 45 days, take half my pay, and give me an official military order demanding I pay ny creditors. If i disobey that order they then rinse and repeat.
Its the service members civil relief act. Relief meaning it keeps us from drowning over our head in staggering debt due to predatory lending. It also limits the credit apr on any form of credit or loan for a service member to a maximum of 30 percent because most states don't have a legal maximum on payday and title loans. Meaning the creditor fan charge 200 percent. Daily interest on those types of loans. Its illegal for us to get them because it is predatory lending.

Fixed -- didn't know there was a setting for that.
Stronghold at x=573, z=1419.
Whoever found it dug a shaft straight down to the stairs next to the portal lol. Guess you can be pretty darn accurate with an eye of ender?

Oso, I think your portal catches you on fire because it's below "sea level" in the nether. Just a guess but it's the best guess I have.
Recommend breaking the nether side portal, building a new one higher up, and going back through to OW to link the new one.
If that's not enough you might need to break on both ends and build the OW side higher.

I'll give that a try and see what happens.
