I am not inclined to think that two scum would jump on hp [leaves] to try to save Antagon, which makes me think that SoO is town.

At this point, Syry is most likely scum. It would go into my original feeling of him at the very start of the game, along with the fact that everyone else is more town than he is (sans oversoul, probable partner in crime).
