If long range is necessary Karl can handle it. If long range against a nonhuman is necessary I can dimdoor and now it isn't long range.

Also, that's a BAD idea, Who. What if the long range is either really dangerous, or needs to be done stealthily? (Like, without IMMEDIATELY alerting them)

Karl can probably do it, but he's not... stable right now. You dimdooring into a melee will get you killed immediately.

I'm not going to dimdoor into the melee, I'd dimdoor 100 feet away or so.

Stealthily would be difficult for anyone. At really long range it's hard to kill in one shot, so nobody could do it. Unless they have Izzie's thug where they can shoot from as far as they want. We just get that for Avina and we're good.

I think our best bet is "don't get into situations where extremely long range is necessary".

Most of the information you need is in the first post of this thread. Fake God has included a list of allowed source books for this campaign. I suggest taking a look at Players Handbook I first as that's the most basic and core rulebook and has all the information you need on learning how to play the game.

After that, take a look through some of the other books and look for something you think will be fun to play. Most of us are also new to D&D and are very noob friendly. Feel free to ask us for advice or ideas as well!

Once you've made your character and feel comfortable with the rules, just join us for one of our sessions and you're good to go. If you go to the stream Fake God set up, you can even watch a video of one of our typical sessions! We have a lot of players already, so you're free to mostly pick something you think looks fun to play rather than worrying about filling in.

We used to have a Cleric. While it's really helpful, please only pick it if it's something you want to play and not because other people want you to.

I took a quick spin of the 3.5 book and at a first glance, I became interested in a rogue role. I really a, interested with the tricks such as persuasion, escape artist with so,e abilities to defend myself if necessary. I was the kind of guy who could love to see what I could get away with. Think Han Solo

I'm just going to forewarn you that Fake God likes combat and might kill your character if you do something worthy of death. But if that's what interests you the most, go for it. There are some other basic classes in some of the other books though.
