What is the methodology being used to calculate the start times in past legs as well as future legs to equalize contenders?

I think there is also some fuzziness concerning communication about the leg while playing. Are we only allowed to chat on designated Chatzy channels during the actual leg, or are we allowed to speak on AIM/Skype/whatever? If yes to chat programs, when are people able to talk with each other, exactly? When they are at the same part of the leg?

Usually (and from now on) start times are calculated so that there is half an hour between the first and last player. We didn't use that method in the times for Leg 3 because of the planned flight delay, and because there was a great deal of debate over what times the 2nd-5th teams actually arrived at the Pit Stop. Not to mention Leg 3 itself was more of an equalizer than any other leg. I am sorry it look your giant lead away, though.

And I've heard a lot about people communicating during legs as well. Generally speaking, players should only communicate about tasks in chatzys or if they are currently at the same task. Players shouldn't be sharing information that wouldn't be known to them in a real-world setting. I'd prefer it if people wouldn't ask other people where they are on Skype/AIM, since that same question can be answered easily by either of the mods, and all you really need to know is whether they're at the same task as you or not. If they're at the same task, then wooo you can talk! And if you're not, then no damage is done, you just know they're somewhere that isn't where you are.

EDIT: tl;dr use common sense and don't undermine unspoken rules

Apparently Tragedy is only good at puzzles.
And conserving money!
If she was really good at conserving money, she'd have not lost :P
Been doing the legs on mobile- it's much less faster and much more of a headache to deal with.
And of course, I screwed up on the four pillars part.
And blackjack. :P
I blame you for this.

Everyone was complaining about Blackjack... I was out in 3 hands, so most of you suck at Blackjack.

Ah, I don't care about my lead on leg two. The time gap between players made those times unfeasible to continue and the Amazing Race show already does similar stuff.

The Blackjack was horrible for me. I didn't know exactly what I was doing. I got out relatively quickly, but damn, it was confusing. Lesson learned to always let the minion do all the tasks.

Table 2 was hilarious to watch with Tragedy's terrible calls and Jal not knowing what to do.

Xalxe was supposed to be making clues, but he is sick and dying so I can make clues at the last minute and try to run this leg on my own or we'd have to have another leg rescheduled. I haven't heard from Xalxe in a few hours.

If you think you can do it, go for it. I don't want you to stress out, though.

CC says he's working on clues as fast as he can. If he can finish them, then game on.

It's almost start time and you have 9 people to run. If you think you can do it, great. That seems hardcore stressful to do, though. I don't mind either way if the leg is still on or is rescheduled.
