In a riot of civil unrest, destruction of property is brought on by the feeling of futility, of utter frustration. "WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO BE HEARD AND EXPRESS MY SEVERE ISSUES WITH _____" and when lots of people do it out of that same sort of seed, it draws attention: "why are so many people doing this destructive act? Holyshit things are so bad they're willing to face pressure hoses, police beatings, incarceration, death, and are destroying the environment in which they live knowing this to try and achieve something. Maybe we should do something about that!" - I may not think it is the best course of action (I'm a pacifist), but absolutely understand it and wouldn't quick-jump judge those people in a negative way (I too have been backed into a corner and restrained, you better believe I lashed out and fought against it, even being a pacifist.)
In a city-wide celebration over a victory that everyone feels they share in, destruction of property is brought on by a very select few who are stupidididiotic drunks who have succumbed to mob mentality and don't know how to express their excitement in a healthy way. It's a small fraction of a percentage of what is going on in the bigger picture (enter my concert example), but the media likes to blow it out of proportion and turn it into something it's not. It's not a riot that is being accepted by authorities to perpetuate, it's a few people being idiots and the police are handling it in the way they think will lead to a minimalization of incidents rather than an increase. - I'll be quick to jump-judge and criticize anyone who destroyed property under these circumstances, people are stupid, especially when imbibing alcohol, and there is no excuse.
but, ya know, let's think it's all the same because we can't think for ourselves and the media told us it was so!!!balance among all things-

Yeah, the police are pitiful, they need to do their job. That would at least help a little bit w/ the riots

Well, I buy some of the excuse from the police which is, paraphrased, it's really hard to stop a bonfire when there are 15,000 people in your way. But then again...the studies on the psychological effects of horse cops on people who live on urban developments and the sheer ability of 2 horse cops to clear like...a 15 by 15 square in like 2 seconds is a pretty good counter argument.
But yeah..while yes it is a minority(not as minor as some might claim), it's still very strange that the it is encouraged by public officials, to go completely bonkers and break stuff after a big win.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.-

he was banned so-best week ever?Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

oh okay lol.
i honestly cant wait for the draft. the 49ers have our qb, a decent defense, but we need superstars again. we've got the talent for defense i feel, but we gotta get offense. we're set good for the draft.
best qb draft class this year too apparently which will be fun to see. i dont watch college, so i dont really know if the hype is deserved. i do think theres also a massive amount of good qbs in the nfl right now that i can appreciate. if even one of these guys is a superstar, thatd be pretty big for your less off team.
also people are talking shit about john harbaugh why?-

thats possible. my dad thinks a really good qb is gonna come from lower rounds, and i dont know how i feel about that one. i think a good qb will come out of it but with a lot of busts, too.In post 2147, TwoInAMillion wrote:This is going to be one of those years where not very many qbs from the draft turn into lifelong starters, I think.-
