on hiplops suggestion I guess I'm going to nominate them for kodak moment. It doesn't fit perfectly, but they really do deserve some recognition for what i thought was a stunning performance.

Iuno if this is the right place to suggest this, but was wondering if maybe there should be some kind of award that recognizes people's contributions to the newbie queue? Either by hosting or playing or both.

Its hard to do something like this fully democratically because it would take so much more effort and is frankly not worth it.

the amount of democracy involved is fine.

Nomming transcend for most cunning manipulator for mini 1796.

http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66713

Transcend, a relatively new player, put on an incredibly convincing and also quite manipulative act the whole game. There was convincing fake frustration, fake paranoia, and even fake trolling! On the last day, he manipulated the town into quickly making a mislynch and then jailkeeping him, but he had his 1 strongman shot left to finish the game. His acting alone goes beyond good scum play and verges into the territory of "are you sure the mod didn't mess up your role pm?"

Nominating Kuribo for best scum.

He was calm, ruthless and calculated. He was confirmed town to most of the players and one of the major parts was when he convinced everyone he was town after Accountant, the gunsmith, BSed his way out of it.

I've never nominated anyone before and I'm glad I can now to this guy.

I also agree with this. I was his partner (in a hydra) and he carried SO HARD.

Since there are insufficient nominations for Paragon I am going to make a case for 5 players that I think near universally perform excellently in a town role as scumhunters and town leaders.

Ranger
Aneninen
Spiffeh
Tammy
TellTaleHeart

Ranger: Consistently a strong performer in all of her games. I have already made this post and explained why and the submission got deleted, so you can look to it.

Aneninen: A perfect example to me of a Cassandra player, who calls out scum time and time again and is frequently ignored. Since the award is specifically a scumhunting award, meaning that I think read projection and town leading ability are out of the picture, I think he is a very good candidate. In 1795: Science Mafia he never once townread scum and was voting scum near the entirety of the game. In Open 627 he also did well and was on various scum wagons that never came to fruition, including the Burning Crystal wagon. Almost never has scum as a major townread.

Spiffeh: I am seconding Fakegod's nomination, I don't feel like there's much for me to say that hasn't already been said.

Tammy: Very solid reads universally, both independently and as a member of the Imperium hydra with Nacho. She independently came to the same (correct) conclusion in the newbie that we played together and also lead town to wins in various games, including Gumball Mafia (perfect town win!) almost-normal mafia, and had a solid readslist in 637: Fire and Ice. By reputation I believe that Nacho may also deserve a town nomination and I have seen him perform well but I haven't seen enough from him to do so, and my understanding is that the majority of what I've seen from the Imperium slot was tammy.

TellTaleHeart: Also a player that I more frequently see in hydra, in JK9++ it was universally agreed among my scumbuddies that we were just going to kill Heartless night 1 because TTH's reads are too strong. She was a ton less wrong than the majority of the town in that game and she is also a voice of reason constantly as town where she prevents mislynches, including microes 557 and 535 where she was the only person really defending me when I was town and various other town players. A lot to be said.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.

Psst.

I'm pretty sure the Paragon nominations are overwriting themselves, at least on the image if not on the spreadsheetg.

You must not have played with Ranger for several months. None of this is any longer true.
