In post 347, Jake The Wolfie wrote:I think it's obvious that at least one scum was on Dashwood's wagon.
Tracer Bullet let the openwolf's voice bounce around in his head a few more times, a frown over his face as he lit up another cigarette.

It doesn't help to state the obvious, and Jake wasn't one for deep thoughts or big insights,

whether that's a testament to his innocence or his naivety, only God and himself knew.

Tracer Bullet looked over Jake's file yet again, the kid had a rap sheet as long as country mile.

Eating some pigs who were first time home-owners, trying to eat a little girl and her grandmother too.

This wolf was on his last strike, don't know which genius thought to put him in school.

But then again this solution seemed too simple - a wolf in a suspicious hat and a trenchcoat?

The bad guys here had to be smarter than that? Or did they?

Tracer Bullet hated cases with easy answers - they were usually wrong

Putting his .38 on his desk, Tracer knew the only thing he could trust in this room of blank faces was himself and his trusty gun.

In a quick smooth motion he dropped the bullets out and pocketed them, then put one in and spun the barrel,

the cylinder made a satisfying click as it moved back into place.

Spinning the gun on his desk, Tracer Bullet stared at the four blank faced kids before him - looking for clues in their faces..

Sometimes a game of Russian Roulette is the perfect icebreaker when nobody's willing to talk

This cat was one cool customer, maybe he'd seen this movie before..

Tracer Bullet pondered this question as he thought of who to point his gun at next.

There were ways to play this game, and it was starting to get DANGEROUS

Tracer Bullet knew he needed to trust somebody, but could he trust the little yellow vegetable?

Pipple looked like he belonged more in a salad than in school, but he did look innocent enough.

Letting a sidekick in on an investigation is one way to get information.

But only if the sidekick could be trusted

Okay I like that you actually looked up what my pfp was without me prompting you, it's kinda an indicator that you're just a Cool Dude in general
and tbh I'm kinda okay to quietly ponder for now, I've expressed my opinion, I don't feel like there's much I can do rn, it seems most of you guys aren't very sociable

Pipple suddenly started getting all talkative,

People tend to do that when they're a hammer click away from death,

Tracer Bullet rolled another cigarette around his hand as he thought about Pipple's reaction,

calling someone a cool dude after almost catching a .38 slug,

Was Tracer Bullet getting played here?

"I just want to go over something with you - this here below is a copy of your vote that you put in yesterday - can you describe your thoughts at the time and explain what "meh" means?"

Pooky lit the cigarette in his hand and took another long drag - this was not going to be easy

I knew deadline was coming up and there wasn’t any real game to work off of, so I just voted for Dash because I kinda felt like the so-called suspicions towards him had some weight

Tracer Bullet's eyes narrowed - mind racing furiously

Was this an innocent Pipple? Or a cunning killer?

The possibilities raced through his head quickly - too quickly...

He had to slow them down by taking another slug of Bourbon.

Focusing again on Pipple, he knew he needed to press on with his quesitoning.

"Which suspicions are you talking about?"

I believe people suspected his way of speaking? I understood it could be Dash’s general speech pattern, but it was really the best thing I could find.

Jake's head twitched rapidly.

"Mr. Bullet, cut the old bric-a-brac bickering and flavor, and get to your point, before you meet my bladetip's. I do love a good flavor, but not when there's a value to reading though the indigestible."

He straightened himself up.

Sorry about that, I sometimes get a little antsy.

The Openwolf's eyes glowed red as he halfgrowled halfsnarled in reply,

he was getting antsy.. perhaps hungry for blood ?

this solution was easy... too easy...

Another drag on his cigarette brought Tracer Bullet's thoughts into focus.

Jake was comfortable here... too comfortable.

Sometimes Tracer Bullet thought too much and missed the obvious..

Sometimes a spade is just a spade, and a wolf is just a wolf...

Something about the way Jake talked made Tracer Bullet think this might be a wolf he could trust.

Wasn't often Tracer Bullet second guessed himself - but there was nothing ordinary about this case.

Could the wolf in the trenchcoat and mafia hat be an ally here?

Taking one last drag out of the half burned out cigarette, Tracer Bullet suddenly turned deadly serious,

With a quiet intensity in his voice he replied to the snarling wolf.

"Look here, you haven't done much in the way of help and we got a whole lot of trouble here - so it's high time you put up or eat rope"

"If I give you my gun right now, who do you shoot in this room to make sure we get to tommorrow? one answer only"

The missing man.. of course... something didn't add up in this class 2+2 didn't equal 5!

It was the simplest answer, but was the wolf picking an easy target or giving us the straight truth?

Trace Bullet knew he had to re-read the file on the missing person they called "lunchmeat"

Could he be the one behind the heinous crimes!?

A tip of the hat to the wolf, and Tracer Bullet headed out into the rain to look for more clues.
