Going with my gut on this one.
I didn't like the way he tried to lead the town and try to game it - although I tried to look for a clever loophole in his idea I did not find it (a loophole that would result in one backfire targeting multiple people). After that, his wording made me think he was jealous of townies' ability to make wishes. And this insight by another person about his votes on and off vifam make me do this.
You kind of missed the part where the mod changed the rules to avoid breaking the game based on Balrog's post.
