Well the crit part maybe not, but IE is still better for Phos bomb, missiles and gatling gun than BOTRK is. Plus except for when you're long distance missile sniping, presumably you're weaving in AAs to proc the triforce's sheen, which the crit is meaningful for but attack speed isn't very meaningful.

If you're using Corki as an ADC, of course. If you want to just focus on casting, you're better off with the AP items' higher numbers and better passives and better penetration options.

Right, the raw damage from IE is higher, but BotRK gives life steal, attack speed AND the active, for a cheaper package. (Bork + pickaxe is almost the same cost as IE).

Honestly, I don't think Corki should even count as an AD carry; I think he gets in by historical accident and because he happens to lane well against ad carries / has trinity siege. And so people just call him a "midgame ad carry" even though he's a pretty huge outlier in adc space.

Imagine this definition of ad carry: "A ranged champion with either an attack speed steroid OR abilities that scale with BOTH attack speed AND damage." It's almost perfect - it captures how ad carries are those champs who get a lot of value buying in to the crit / attack damage / attack speed system. The only two real discrepancies are Caitlyn and Corki. Caitlyn because she has no aspd steriod and only her passive scales with attack speed - but she clearly gets her outlier status as a result of her extraordinary range. Corki is in the same boat - no aspd steriod, and his only aspd steroid is his passive - and that's a very small aspd scaling factor that doesn't change the fundamental math of the crit / attack damage / attack speed network - just makes the whole thing a little more efficient.

When you think about the two paths to becoming an adc - either getting free attack speed or having your kit benefit strongly from building attack speed and damage - I think it's more clear how distinct Corki is from other ADCs, and why the conventional itemization wisdom doesn't apply. And if you get out of that mental model, it's hard to make a compelling case for IE. Unless you're rich enough early enough that you want the endgame power of the crit / attack damage / attack speed network, even though your kits only contribution is making the endgame state a bit more efficient.

Corki is an adc. Adc's literally exist to take turrets down during sieges, which Corki is good at.

It's why they're the only required role in the game with little variation. You can replace a true support with a support Mage or support tank, you can replace a Mage with a support Mage or an assassins, you can have bruisers or tanks top and jungle, but adcs are always required to take out turrets (except you can have an urgot when riot buffs him too much since he sort of kills turrets and fucks adcs hard)

i built my ekko like people build diana
they both seem pretty alike championwise

one interesting thing i found is that his e follows someone who flashes away at the right moment; this is sometimes good because it can sometimes mean a kill, but in this case i just ended up around a lot of quite aggressive people

More NA bot games today! Finding that I really enjoy Nami (All of her skills are amazing) and Morgana (All of her skills are amazing especially Black Shield) support but hopefully I can do well with them in normals and will ask to try them soon.

So, after getting annoyed at always being support, I wanted to try going lane for once (at least until I can practice jungle/get Smite) so trying champions like Twisted Fate on bot game, I wanted to go mid but Teemo took it... So I had to top bots...two of the at the same time so... Oh boy. I really don't just want to be a good at support but nnn... It just seems like I'm doomed for it.

Jeez, I suck at Viktor.

Then again, I only just played him for the first time. And against Akali, no less. If it weren't for THREE thrown fights (the last two of which were aces) we would've lost.

Playing ARAM with LLD and friends! Kayle did alright in and happy to use again, Miss Fortune I failed miserably the first time, second time I got Miss Fortune again and I really don't know. Apparently I did better by focusing on auto attacks more than skills which is completely different to ever support I've played so far so it's interesting and I'd probably want to continuing learning the ropes of ranged ADCs.

LLD was kind enough also afterwards to help teach me about the concept of range in characters and the idea of keep distance when you're playing them and to try and when you're fighting against them, figuring out a way to try and close the gap or just punish in some way. (Best way I could do it for Morgana is just Hallowed Ground)

Malphite was another champion I tried one on one with a friend while being spectated to see what's happening, won on kills but lost overall so I called that pretty much bad. Especially when I built the wrong armor to begin with.

Finally, playing Nautilus (first time champion!) on ARAM once again which I am adoring by building as tank as I could and just engage whenever and literally had no repercussions doing it (might be the team comp). Diana was also a good champion that I played on ARAM cause I figured out a combo really quickly and started building AP. Played Nami again as a support I enjoy, did well but still lost because they just kept pushing and we responded pretty poorly as a team as a whole.

Reminder once again that this is just that I'm enjoy the champion, probably no indication on actually whether I'm good during a normal game but I'm kinda confident regardless.

I just had a game.

I don't really have words for it. I had just gotten bounced back to Bronze 3 (bouncing between 3 and 2 a lot over the last two weeks), and I was feeling kinda shitty, then in the pre-game team chat someone says "Oi, cunts. Can we hurry this one up, I want a maccas run." So we all start going full Straya and having a blast about it. "Get a 1/2 pounder you fuckin' skirt!" "Wait until breakfast you ponce." A real blast. We had so much goddamn fun, then we played the game, had a bit more banter, were losing MISERABLY early. Gold was pretty equal but we were down in power peaks and everything was rough. Someone makes another Straya joke and we're just all on the banter bandwagon again, having a fuckin' blast.

In the end, we end up winning, pretty convincingly. and in the post-game chat the other team are raging at each other. Literally telling each other to drink litres of bleach. Our team were just talking about what we were going to eat and how bard was a pussy for ulting everyone instead of letting us all get pentas and shit.

Just a great time, one that really made me happy, and reminded me how much fun this game can be when people just enjoy each other's company.

when i play ekko top
i tend to win lane as long as i don't slip up; i actually don't think i've ever lost lane as ekko
but as the game develops, i can't engage without getting bursted down really quickly
maybe this is a problem with me playing melee champs specifically, but i dunno

Well, you're a squishy champion. What you do there is try to get picks on lone squishies, or wait for your team to engage first.
