I hate to be a spoilsport, but I'd very much prefer that our hydra not spam up the thread of make the game unenjoyable for other players with distasteful trolling such as this. For the record, I will always sign my posts in the same way, and my posts should be pretty easy to tell apart from Beer1's (who is the head who is currently pretending to be me) since mine will always be signed the same way and will actually have content.

I would like to address the elephant in the room as to why my partner decided to request a roleclaim. We did have a good reason for requesting a townclaim, believe it or not, for reasons we will be more open about tomorrow. For what I hope are obvious reasons, it is bad to discuss this today.

Also, CooLDoG has not been in game for a very long time at this point and there are less than 6 hours until deadline if I remember correctly. While I would love for him to roleclaim and for us to make a determination whether to lynch him or not after we had a chance to analyze said claim, we no longer have that luxury, thanks to him lurking it out. The time for a hammer is now.

Again, I apologize for the hush hush nature of the request since it certainly isn't something I endorsed or would do if I was playing alone, and thus I completely understand your concerns and frustration. But now that the deed is done, it is best that we use what we gained to the greatest benefit of town, which cannot be done if we lay everything on the table just yet.

Mainez' opening was weak and it was legitimate to prod it. What are you seeing that I'm not?

I explained in the opening of my 445 how CooLDoG's push on Mainez was objectively wrong and would suggest you glance at the full version there at the beginning of the "CooLDoG is scum" portion, but short answer is that Mainez said that he random voted for the hell of it and questioned serious things to get the game moving. CooLDoG's response was to tell him that meant he wasn't dealing with the serious things at all, which ignores the second half of what Mainez was saying completely. Prodding Mainez's early play, fine, I don't care who you push early in the game. Prodding his play with reasoning like that is problematic.

He was arguing that letting people butt heads has scum-hunting value, which is correct. Is it alignment indicative? Not tremendously, but it does show he has some consideration of hunting.

If he thought that letting people butting heads didn't have scumhunting value, he would be wrong but it wouldn't make him scummy. Calling people town for having correct theory knowledge is generally a terrible move, considering people don't suddenly forget theory when they draw a scum role PM. If you are trying to say that him bringing up in this instance was to the best advantage of the town and thus a very minor town tell, I could probably agree with you.

There's some truth in that, but I'm not convinced it amounts to an end-of-day lynching case.

I agree, although "being defensive" is one of those things that have never been and will never be a scumtell of mine.

This sort of WIFOM is exactly why truth tells are banned. Seriously, just because TSQ had hitherto acted in one way (something no one has independently confirmed) doesn't mean he's bound to always do so.

Trust tells weren't banned because of WIFOM. Trust tells were banned because they are extraordinarily powerful town tells that were giving certain players an unfair advantage.
So, if you think TSQ dropped a trust tell, then he's probably town.

Pedit: I agree with you completely, hence distinctive signing style (and, hopefully posting style). I've talked with Beer1 about how anti-town his trolling actually is, but a significant reason this hydra was formed was to try to mesh very different playstyles, so I don't really have very solid ground to stand on when asking him to conform to a style with which I am more comfortable.

The last thoughts I'd like to get out before a hopeful CooLDoG scumflip are reads, which are the reads I have formed after recent reading and do not necessarily reflect the reads of my partners, although we are aligning pretty closely so far and so I don't think any of these reads will come as ridiculous surprises to them.

I have Mikazuki, Jazzmyn, Johnny, and Aristophanes as strong town.
I have BRO as second-tier town, but still pretty town.
Kalimar, Toasty, and Mainez are my weak townreads, although Mainez becomes strong town if CooLDoG flips scum.
I have a decent scumread on the West9 slot.
Of NQT and Varsoon, I believe NQT is more likely scum, but would not be overly surprised if it was Varsoon.

I apologize that these reads come at the end of the day and without reasons, but I wanted to leave this here as a jumping off point for town in the event of our death. I would especially encourage town not to push those top 5 town reads (and Mainez) and to at least pursue West tomorrow if we die, the middle reads are far less important.
