He didn't say activity for activity's sake; he said it was an enjoyable level. Considering all the complaints we've had recently about games dragging, what do you think the unintended side effects will be?

Nominate Newbie 830 for "Most Enjoyable Game"

Activity makes a game, and we (Me and the rest of the players) made that game happen. I enjoyed reading it to the very end, even though I did get lynched Day 1.

Not to hate on that nomination, but isn't that the game where one of the players totally freaked out at the scumteam in postgame for lurking?

My comment was prior to an edit. He nominated it for "most active game" or some such. I agree that the nom fits with the "most enjoyable" category.

I think it's probably okay to nominate a game you played in, though. Wouldn't the "most enjoyable" award go to the mod anyway?

I was hoping to have fleshed this post out before I leave for the weekend, but I'm running out of time and that's not going to happen. So instead, I'll try to summarize any changes and if there are any questions about what an award is for, I'll get to them Monday, or the Scummies Planning group can clear it up.

This is the finalized list of Scummies for 2009... as always, it will be up to the judges whether an award is actually given, based on whether any deserving nominations are made.

"Body of Work" awards should be for a player's contributions/play over the year, rather than a single game - if you have nominated someone for one of these awards, you are encouraged to find examples of their play to back up the nomination.

Note that the "Best Performance" Oscars are now team-only. Nominations for individuals here and in the "Losing Cause" category will be merged as appropriate.

Some awards already have names that I was too lazy to look up and list. Some don't have names, and we are open to suggestions there.

The Scummies Planning team will be updating the nomination list soon to reflect these changes. We've got a little more time this year, but expect nominations to close sometime in January.

I would suggest "body of work". Finding replacements is tough, and if there's somebody who not only replaces into games, but also puts a lot of effort into reading the whole game and trying to win, he deserves recognition.

I'm still disappointed neither Kamina, Simon, OR Asuka managed to get nommed from TTGL mafia, but, whatever, I guess people didn't really get to see them in action properly so yeah :S.

Asuka was the demoralizer. Rei was the untargettable. I don't expect a nom for an untargettable. That's pretty much a standard role in my games at this point. I thought the demoralizer was a clever role in that it could get around day actions.
