I guarantee there will be plenty "soft spots" are our place for people to rotate between, and will have cushion-y enough padding on the floor that people won't complain about taking it if you're already on the beds/couches. And to echo Glork, lots of people are on various sleep schedules during these meets, so it's very likely that it won't matter a whole lot anyway. In post 496, pirate mollie wrote:

Not planning in policing it or anything, but I'd like/expect people to be courteous enough to offer the couches and beds after they've already had a chance to sleep there.
Of course, everybody's sleep schedules will be all over the place anyway, soooo....
here is the dealio. I have lupus and I am also ever so slightly older than most of you. sleeping on a floor is not an option for me since it will likely leave bruises (I bruise ridiculously easy) and leave me in agony the next day. I can bring an air mattress if there is room (plz say yes) or ask any of my raleigh friends if I can stay at their house, stay at a hotel or worse case scenario drive back and forth from home. I would just prefer to have things planned out.
I only sleep 5 to 7 hours usually.whew!-

Ok yeah given the circumstances, we will ensure you always have a couch or bed to sleep on. No problems there. (Also, we have tons of space for air mattresses, so please being one even if it's for someone else to use.)-

seconded. I vaguely remember the night what's-her-name stood on the table mid-mafia-game. that went well.In post 495, xRECKONERx wrote:He's a lovable stick of fun 99% of the time but you REALLY don't want to piss him off because he will yell a whole lot and kind of just become Satan momentarily so yeah.
yeah, if there's a better way to do this this time around it'd be great. the first Reckoning I bummed a bit more than I chipped in and the second Reckoning it was the opposite. I'm perfectly fine with people enforcing things like giving money for group alcohol runs.In post 495, xRECKONERx wrote:2) Don't be a mooch/cheapo. Usually these events end up being very communal with how money is collected and spent for group meals and party nights and the like, so do your part.
also, it's worth mentioning some people have more money accessible than others (I will probably have a low-ish budget for the whole meet unless I get my tax return back early enough). if the people with more money to spend want better alcohol/food options, it's on them. at the same time, if you don't have enough money for something (random example, everyone decides to do a sushi bar one night), don't get anything big if you're only able to afford what half of everyone else is spending, or don't drink if you can't chip in for that night.
anything communal should be relatively budget IMO [edit before someone yells at me, it usually is, e.g. Nuwen and Matt's chili], and those that can afford to splurge should also have the option. things like going to a sushi bar (now I want sushi ;_;) or only picking up higher-shelf liquor should probably not be considered as a communal thing if there are some people that can't afford it, as not to single people out. /twocents
good times. In post 495, xRECKONERx wrote:4) Clean up after yourselves somewhat because it takes like ten seconds to clean that thing up now versus waiting till the end of the meet and HOLY SHIT WHERE DID ALL THIS MESS COME FROM QUICK EVERYONE TWO HOURS OF CLEANING, STAT
re:mollie, I was just talking with esurio about the whole sleep location rotation thing, and she brought up that if someone had a medical issue or whatever they'd get priority over location and I don't think anyone would have a problem with it. so you should be fine. [glork-ninja'd]
also I'm probably not able to bring an air mattress because not only do I lack one ($20-$40 cost) but I don't think I can afford the $50 roundtrip bag-checking to bring one. or else I would. as such I'm not too picky with my sleeping arrangements. If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

Oh, if anyone wants to have a fancy jazz night we can do that too. Grimm & I found this kickass speakeasy downtown in the basement of this building that is all done up prohibition-style with a full live jazz band playing every night. Now that IS pricey (about $8/drink) BUT the drinks are super strong and will knock you on your ass (I literally only had one and was spinning).green shirt thursdays-

Karaoke at Balto was a blast. Are we finally going to the gay bar this timeIn post 505, xRECKONERx wrote:There will probably be pre-scheduled activities that might cost extra (i.e., karoake bar, going out to eat, gay bar, movie, etc) but nobody has to go do those things and you can elect to just chill at home.

Oh and in regards to sleeping arrangements, if I can get my air mattress sorted I'd be happy to sleep on that all week. That said, if I cant then Im happy to rotate between sleeping things, I would say though that I do struggle to fall asleep (once asleep Im usually fine) so if I can request a quieter room where possible, that would be good. (if not, thats fine as well).
Also Im pretty much signing up to anything at this point, jazz bar, laser tag/nerf gun type things, eating out, I would also quite like to see some of Raleigh, since my experience of USA is Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, awesome but not really America.Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.-
