This is probably overdue, but let's take a look at Benmage's voting record.

- No reasoning at all. The intention could possibly be that he's /agreeing with the previous votes, but it should really be stated so we don't have to decipher contentless votes. Feels of scum being forced to make distance between a buddy since the wagon was growing rather quickly.

Vollkan

- Again, never explained. Again, it's possible he was /agreeing with scooby's post right before him, but that's something that should be explicitly stated.

Wam

- Nothing to see here, but included for purposes of representing his full voting history. There's no reason for either alignment to doubt NT's tracker claim.

Vollkan

- Probably the scummiest vote he's made so far. Tries to slip onto the vollkan wagon by means of "PoE" and "gut". If he has an opinion on vollkan even remotely close to the scummy spectrum, he's neglected to make it clear here. Vollkan doesn't even fall under a category of suspicion in Benmage's list of reads, instead appearing as "Left over".

This bothers me because...

it does not agree at all with his D2 vote on vollkan. That earlier vote was not PoE, so what happened to those vibes? Why is vollkan being crucified through PoE if Benmage had legitimate suspicions on D2? And what exactly were those suspicions? Even to this moment his D2 vote hasn't been explained.

Edosurist

- Sheeps NT's vote on Edosurist. Doesn't explain why the reasons she listed are sufficient to overturn his slight town read. In fact, he never explained his slight town read on Edosurist to begin with. Or any of his town reads.

The White Flag Gambit shows that as long as there exists a person that might reasonably think, "X would never bus Y here because of Z," there also exists scum that might reasonably bus anyway to avoid suspicion.

Also, keep in mind that wam's vote for benmage was the very first on his wagon, and Monkey's was placed in a circumstance where benmage's was the main competitor wagon to the wagon on Monkey himself. So, apart from the White Flag Gambit point, it isn't even a clear-cut situation of two scum bussing their partner.

So upon some rereading i actually have very little idea why i thought scooby was town. He wasn't on either scum wagon, he largely ignored them to continue pushing on TML the entire time, the position of his wam/monkey reads would make sense as a third scumbuddy (although this is a weak point) and the way that he phrased his wam read ("soft townread") feels semantically awkward, like he wanted to call him a weak townread without calling him a weak townread. Really the only post of his that gives me any townvibes is 390, and i can see it coming from scum.

I reread benmage and it solidified him as town, at least to an extent. I don't think monkey would be the kind of player to vote benmage like he did as he lay dying, and the way that benmage has talked about the situation seems town enough.

I can see genuineness in tone. I don't see anything like that in the posts that you listed. His tone in those posts is characteristic of his playstyle regardless of his alignment.
