No, if in doubt, I'll choose the option that doesn't get me lynched. And anyway, I start breaking my own rules if I let Slan have 4.

Actually, looking over your list again, I'm going to completely ignore it - no offence. I think we should wait for everyone (or most people) to post specifically regarding who they would be okay with lynching, rather than allowing you to go back through their posts and deciding on their behalf.

For example, on Guttersnipe's list, you ignored him suspecting Fennin and Delta - why?

PEdit - you started off by presenting your list as an objective method for counting suspects, then you say 'I'll choose the option that doesn't get me lynched'?

It's obviously not a good replacement for people re-posting subjects, but I thought it would give us a good idea of what the lynch-pool should be.

I didn't see guttersnipe's list until after I posted it and took who he expressed the most suspicion of before it.

I did, and I saw Guttersnipe's list, but didn't want to change anything because I'd already spent too much time on it, and I didn't remember him saying much about the ones that weren't on my list anyway.

and DV it should go without saying that a list like that should have no bias. You are simply duplicating peoples sentiments so that they can be seen in one post. What you are suggesting is the equivalent of redacting your name from everyones lists and saying well i didnt want to go lynched...duh

Skenvoy: It is largely the last page i find fault with. I expressed mild suspicion towards you and all of a sudden I was in your top 4 when you hadn't mentioned my name in the preceding 26 pages seems a little off

It does? The way he limited everyone to 3 choices and limited his "lynch pool" to anyone who got 4 or more votes was completely arbitrary. He could have done it in many different ways. Obviously, he's going to present and interpret the data in whatever way supports what he wants. ("Wear a suit and present the data in a fancy table and they'll believe anything you say.")

It's called the "super-citizen" strategy: essentially, a scum acts like they're the town leader, or they're running a meeting, to build up trust over the course of the game so that people's natural tribal instincts look up to them as the one in charge. It's amazingly effective when done well. Think of DV as playing Survivor here, rather than Mafia... we vote someone off the island every turn and he's trying to make sure it's not him.
