I'm putting myself into his head.

I think it's fair to say MTD is newb-scum - he didn't fakeclaim a role on D1 when the threat of the noose was approaching him which is like scumplay 101. This gives us an indication of his skill level. Amateur liars in real life tend to overcompensate or overexplain things because they subconsciously crave approval and want to avoid suspicion. I think MTD is an amateur liar, which is why I think he'd be more willing to elucidate on his buddies when making reads like he did with notscience even though notscience had done nothing at all. So, to forget his other buddy altogether seems unlikely to me.

I remember when I first started playing mafia years ago, as scum I was very conscious of who my partners were. I think most new scum players feel the same way.

As an aside: you can disqualify any thought or line of logic in this game with that sentence (or something similar). So, your objection isn't exactly meaningful.

Because it's completely random. Maybe he wrote down the names of the townies he could mislynch on one paper and forgot about his buddy. Maybe he did it on purpose not to draw attention to his partner. Your interpretation is arbitrary.

I 80% agree with Hoopla's interpretation.

ABR's complaint about it makes no sense. He's been around long enough to know Hoopla speaks the truth.

Just waiting for the rest of the claims here before proceeding.

The fact that he left SR out is an irrelevant and trivial fact to me.

it seems like a pretty meaningful tell to me, so i'm kinda confused how you can reject it to the point of not even needing to explain why.

do you ever make posts giving a read on each player in the game? how could you ever forget to give a read on your buddy?

Let's see if I can get back into this. First off, we're VT.

Rottweiler is confirmed town, as is Aisa unless someone else claims a power role. I believe that Shockwave and Greymarble are town (still waiting on ABR for that explanation). In an ideal world, I would have us lynch our way through Hoopla, ABR and iamausername until we hit scum. Since that's probably not going to happen, I'll go through them individually tomorrow.

That's not a tell at all. He could have listed all the townies he needed to kill, and based on that list, form reads, and then sprinkled reads of his buddies in, and left out one of them.

I don't like Hoopla's insistence on that point. I get the feeling she is just trying to appear town. Definitely lynch her if Shockwave flips town.

I reread Aisa for some reason; she remains town.
MTD called profont "towntown." It is uncommon for scum to use reinforcement words like "super super town" when describing buddies.
I think MTD's ISO is most compatible with the remaining scum being Hoopla IAAU or Shockwave (only 6 minutes to remember and scum could be pretty jarred by forgetting a buddy).

In post 592, Albert B. Rampage wrote:I finally read the game.

Scum is obviously one of the players that MTD called town. Profont, rottweiler and Hoopla all come off badly.

Unvote NS, vote rottweiler
I think this is ABR's worst post; I have trouble swallowing the "obviously" here, and there is a possibility of "start day voting buddy and move to townie" plan.
In post 661, Albert B. Rampage wrote:I iso'd Hoopla. I think Hoopla is town. That leaves only SR. GG scum.
This might be his best one; he reevaluates his read and reverses on a player he needs to mislynch if he's scum.
The early chain of town-perspectived bits was solid too.

I don't think I want to lynch ABR today but he's not off the menu.

I opposed mass claim because it seemed like a tedious thing to wait for before lynching SR.

There isn't anything interesting to be pulled of NS. Ah well.
I'm not sufficiently satisfied of Shockwave Scum to lynch them either, unfortunately. I wanted that initial list of 4 to be right but meh.
IAAU certainly has cared about / tried to influence town's lynches. He does work as a buddy to NS though.
In post 397, Hoopla wrote:cool.

everyone who hasn't picked a side yet, do so plz
Hoopla has certainly played a solid game here if she's scum, but I'm not sure there's anyone else who gives us better odds.
I'd hate to mislynch Hoopla again after Nomination mafia, but I guess that was several years ago (wow).
Profont I cannot at all rule out either. There was a little segment where they took particular interest in my read on notscience and it flipping.

I didn't get anywhere conclusive this round :(
If forced to choose right now, my selection would be profont.
Hopefully I can come at this again later and get a result I'm more confident in.
