Beloved citizen found dead

When the neighbour of mister Kerplunk wanted to pay him a visit yesterday morning to drink a little cup of tea he was in for a nasty surprise. “I ringed at the door four times, but there came no answer.” Since the neighbours knew each other very well, each had a key of their neighbours house. He opened the door of Kerplunk’s house and yelled for him. After looking around on the groundfloor, he went upstairs. And there the neighbour found the lifeless body of Kerplunk. Covered in blood. A note found on the victim’s body read:

Patient on the loose

A patient has escaped the grounds of the Niceville Psychiatric Hospital. A spokesman has assured that, although the man is very dangerous, there is no reason to panic. We of the Niceville Chronicle are not so sure. To be continued.

Great news for death metal fans. ‘Roxy Rock’ is finally coming to Niceville. A date has not been set yet, but the lead-singer said to this paper that it won’t be long. “Maybe a couple of months”, Roxy assured us.

No killings in Niceville last night

Taking into account that there wasn’t a kill this night makes the police think that the note found on Kerplunk’s body was a joke from some kids. “Mafia in town? Ha, it seems it was all a big hoax”, a spokesman of the police said this morning.

Patient still on the loose

Without mafia, the police still have their hands full, because the patient who has escaped the NPH hasn’t been found yet. Anyone who can give intelligence about his whereabouts, should contact the police.

As we've run down the random voting, let's talk about the setup -- we've got a mafia (as that's the game we're playing), and we've got a doc or roleblocker to not have had a kill. I'm not sure what's up with the mental patient -- when I first read it I was thinking serial killer, but it seems unlikely to me we'd have two docs/blockers that both picked right. As for the "In Other News" section, I don't know what it tells us about the setup. Thoughts?

Well seeing how the mod went out of their way to note about the fire I think that we might have an arsonist and a firefighter too. On the main mafiascum site it also talks about having a psychopath and psychiatrist so the thing about the patient on the loose is probably that.

As for this serial Killer/Psychopath, I think I agree with Malaprop, what are the chances of having 2 role blockers and them both getting it right on the first night?
So for the moment, I am going to concentrate on the scum, unless anything else comes to light.
