players may continue to discuss normally until the thread is locked.

B-3.
If a deadline is reached without a player receiving the majority of votes, the player with the current highest number of votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie the player who received the highest number of votes first will be lynched.

B-4.
:arrow: Once a player's death scene has been posted that player is dead. Additional posts
are allowed
by a dead player at any time in the game,
but must contained only "ghost noises" and
no
readable English words or abbreviations :idea: (not even 'bah!').
These posts may be deleted by the mod at the mod's discretion.

B-5.
The mod will send a PM at the beginning of each new day. :o


C - Activity:


C-1.
:arrow: You are
expected
to post at least one (1) time in every twenty-four (24) hour period. :!: You are
required
to post at least one (1) time in every forty-eight (48) hour period. :!: (Note: Weekend posting will be given
slightly
more leniancy. :roll:)

C-2.
After forty-eight (48) hours of not posting you will be prodded. If you fail to respond to the prod you will be replaced. If your activity level drops again, you will be given one additional prod, and then you will be replaced. :cry:

If you will be unable to post for any length of time over 48 hours please inform the mod via PM. The mod
DOES NOT

On a game related note, the guards are the only ones who have any inside knowledge because they know which player is the king. The rest of the players know nothing I'm pretty sure.

It is an interesting setting. Victory condition completely dependent on one player.

The other part that is interesting is that there doesn't seem to be a mention of night actions/night kill ability at all. We won't know for sure until after N1 but if there is no NK ability (i.e. no power roles) then that certainly changes the dynamic of this game. The closest thing I can think of from the PMs is that rebels are 'uninformed majority/townies' and Guards are 'informed minority/mason/no NK type'.

Its a tough call because the scum don't know who each other are. So they won't hold back from , pressuring, defending anyone. Which means you can't get a strong read on buddying, distancing, or anything based purely upon player interactions excluding the king. The guards would hesitate to bus the king because they lose if he goes down.

I'm not sure how much info we'd gain from a guard or rebel lynch considering neither know who is who. The only profitable one would be the king, but if his alignment is revealed, then the game is already over. So random lynch doesn't seem too horrible an idea for this setup compared to a normal game.

Corvus, considering that you suggested the possibility that there could be no power roles in this game, you've basically just confirmed that you don't have one if there are any.

if there is no night, and the only deaths are from lynches, then town is pretty heavily favored.

The easiest way to pseudo-calculate it would be from worst case scenario.

I.e. how soon will town lose from random mislynches.

VC: 3 guards and 1 King win when they outnumber the rebels. Thus only 4 rebels remaining and all scum alive is earliest possible win.

8 rebels initially, town can do 4 random lynches and mislynch before losing. The odds of that occuring (randomly) should be 8/12 the first day, 7/11 2nd day, 6/10, 5/9. This translates into 2/3 chance of mislynch day 1, 63% day 2, 60% day 3, 55% day 4. So worst case autolosing for town is that.

If at any point town randomly lynches scum (guards) then the game almost goes into autowin (gain info and scum VC requires an extra town kill), and a random King lynch is a win.

In the end, town has at least 4 days to get it right, and a random 1/3 chance of doing so and if town ever 'gets lucky' then they get another two days (one from preventing mislynch and one from lynching scum so scum VC requires extra town death). In the end, if the only info scum has is 'who' the King is, then I don't see how this is really balanced unless there is some type of hidden condition where "if town fails to find the King before X number of days, then King auto wins" type.

At any rate, i think we should try to scumhunt for a few pages before bringing this up again.
