5:30 AM: Sunrise in Central Park finds an already busy crime scene. Squad cars with flashing lights barricade the only access, so the reporters must stand back and crane their necks for any view at all. One enterprising cameraman gets the only halfway decent shots of the scene from his perch on top of a press truck. A single covered body still lays in the grass, the white sheet shielding its face from the early morning sun spattered red from contact. Two more are loaded in body bags on stretchers, with a pair of Assistant Medical Examiners hoisting them into ambulances. The head M.E. leans over the third body and pulls back the sheet, and the cameraman is quick to zoom in on the victim. She's young, late teens or early twenties, with Mediterranean features, eyes wide open capturing the shocked expression which died on her face.
A young police officer spots the journalist on the roof of his truck and shouts him down. This scene is still off limits, the investigation is very sensitive. The cameraman complies, he's already gotten enough for News 4 New York to get the scoop on this story and hopefully for the network execs to green light the pay raise he's been waiting for. He grabs his bags to start packing up the camera when he sees an unmarked detective's sedan leaving the scene. He hoists himself up on the bumper for a better vantage point and flips the camera back on. A dour faced detective is behind the wheel and in the back seat is handcuffed man with a blue windbreaker over his face. Nobody else from the network seems to be paying attention as the car quietly pulls onto the road and heads back into the city. The cameraman finally packs up his things, smiling and thinking about where he'll go for vacation when he gets this raise. Italy is supposed to be very nice this time of year...

RULES OF THE GAME
1. I am the mod. My word is law.
2. I am fallible. If you believe I have made a mistake, for instance in a votecount, kindly point it out and I will fix it. If you have more serious grievances, please PM me.
3. This is a game. The point is to have fun. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
4. Do not quote private communications with me or with other players. This includes your role PM. Breaking this rule will result in a modkill.
5. You may not discuss the game outside the thread unless permitted to do so by your role.
6. Votes should be made in bold, such asVote: OhGodMyLife. When changing your vote, pleaseUnvote: OGML. This is not entirely necessary but makes my job easier. For the same reason, please put all votes at the bottom of your posts. You may use nicknames and acronyms as long as it is reasonably clear who you are referring to.
7. A lynch suffers the requirement of a simple majority. If there is no majority at deadline,there will be no lynch.
8. Once a majority is reached, that player is lynched and no further votes or unvotes will be counted.
9. Once you are dead, you are dead. No more posting, not even a "Bah!" post. Save it for the endgame discussion.
10. This game will have fixed deadlines. Each day phase will lastnine daysand each night phase will last48 hours.
11. You are expected to post at least once in every24 hour period. Failure to do so will result in a prod. Failure to respond to a prod within the next 24 hours will mean replacement. If you require a prod more than once during the course of the game you will simply be replaced.
12. This game is a commitment, to me and to your fellow players. Treat it as such. If you think that you will be unable to meet the activity requirements for any reason, don't sign up. If you know you will be V/LA at any point within the next month and a half, don't sign up.
Roles are being randomized and distributed. Please confirm via PM that you have received and understand your role and win condition. The game will start when all confirmations are in.
