Mafia 13 - Game over!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Aug 24, 2003 8:33 am

Post by Corsato »

Mathcam, mafia has been lynched.

Welcome back to the town of Caltinassetta, located somewhere in the hills of Sicily.

This once peaceful village has been under the influence of the mafia for a very long time.
In fact, most of the living townspeople can't remember the more happier times,
when extortion, blackmail, robbery and grand theft wasn't happening every day.
Most of the townspeople have left the town, and only few remain.

However, following the path many villages have followed, the remaining people of Caltanissetta
decide to take there faith in their own hands, and get rid of the mafia once and for all.

Whether that was a wise decision or not, will be found out in the next couple of days.

Fletcher, I think by Corsato posting the previous pages to the game meant that we would not be starting over. At least- that's what I think...

Good to see this game going again. I'm moving today and won't be checking the thread for 24 to 36 hours.

Yay, another revived thread!

So, do we have to start over with the voting? My vote stays where it is.

Vote: Pooky

Just a few notes:

1) I've decided to continu this game instead of restarting. This is mainly bacause of certain events happening on night 1.

2) Roles are sent, as well as your night choices, and / or other events that might have happened to you.

3) We restart on day 1. I've given you the old posts so not all is lost. I figure since the votes are usually random at day 1, there's no need to make a new vote tally (with merging in the replacements). Feel free to vote for the same player for the same reason ;).

4) Take your time to read back the pages. Day has officially started, but I think it will take some time to get back in it.

Here's the old post with the dead scene's of night 1:

When dawn brakes, the town assembles on town square. A quick headcount shows two members missing.
Where are Leonidas and Macros?? Leonidas is soon found in his house, with a bullet through his head.
He's obviasly killed by the mafia.

In another part of the town, Macros is found in his house, needly fitted into five cans.
Scared by this sight the town doesn't bother finding out what happened to the rest of Macros.
A quick search of his house makes the town more happy. Macros was a proud member of the Berlucci mafia.

The members of the town meet eachother on town square, when Mathcam suddenly falls on the street, with a knife in his back. Only an assassin could pull of such a stunt.

Dourgrim, who is present on town square, seems to be sleeping deeply.
You try to wake hime with a bucket of cold water, to no effect.

Leonidas, townie, killed by mafia.
Macros, Berlucci mafia, killed and canned by a Serial Killer.
Mathcam, townie, killed by an assassin.
Dourgrim, passed out on town square??

Dourgrim, you are not allowed to post during this day. With 21 capable of voting, it's 11 to lynch.

Anyway back to the game.

I'll go with my post from the original thread:
Hmmm... lots of new players (new to me, anyway), but we lost 3 players who've been around for a while. I think I'll vote for one.
vote: Dragon Phoenix

O.K. I'm not ready to vote yet Mathcam seems suspicious but that was because of the person he replaced.

Well, after rereading the old threads, I still think Pooky was the most suspicious, but I'd like to see something from mathcam before jumping back in and voting for him.

Yes, let's hang the guy who already has a knife in his back :D .

Seriously though, is Mathcam allowed to replace someone in a game where he already died or is it Mathcam
2
who is now competing.

Mathcam
2
is the same person as Mathcam. Whether or not you are allowed to replace someone in a game where you already died in before, depends on what your previous role was. Mathcam was a townie, so he didn't know anything more than we do. But maybe he does now.

Reading the Old Thread, I find Pooky and Adm. Thrawn highly suspicious for voting NEHI after his/her claiming cop.
But I don't think voting mathcam or Leonidas for mistakes made by Pooky or Adm. Thrawn is the right thing to do, or is it?

That last sentence is a bit weird formulated. I mean that we can't hold mathcam or Leonidas responsible for actions by their predessecors, or can we? Any thoughts about this 'problem'?

This is a difficult situation. Can we hold the replacements responsible for the actions by their predessecors? On first thought, I think we can't. The replacements don't know why their predessecors did certain things. Maybe they can guess it, but they don't know for sure. So it's going to be difficult for them to defend themselves against things they didn't even do.

On the other hand, it's not just the combination of the player and his/her actions that we vote for. We have to remember that the roles given to the predessecors might have a connection with the an action done by them as well. Both the roles and the actions remain the same, so we can't completely ignore all the things the predessecors did.

But maybe I'm completely off here. Any other thoughts?
