For some reason, the vast majority of people who comment on youtube videos seem to consistently be the dumbest people in the universe. I don't mean "dur hur look at me I'm a troll" dumb, either. I mean flat-out gibbering idiots who probably can't tie their own shoelaces.

Seriously, who was it that taught all the morons how to use computers recreationally? Can't we go back to the good old days when only smart people were online and all the stupid people were sitting at home watching network television or something? I blame apple.

Yos:

I blame Nintendo. They were the ones who made the Internet acessible almost anywhere.

Hell, even Microsoft is using Nintendo Wi-Fi in their new 360s.

not
manage to read YouTube comments at all? The "X people" remark shows up CONSTANTLY on Highest Rated, which is why I bring it up. Unless you're weird and you shrink your browser window so that the comment window isn't visible, you can't help but look at it. And that damned comment is always at the top.

It's unavoidable. You've never seen a YT comment in ages? That's baloney unless you've managed to never see a YouTube video within the past few months.

On the new topic (*groan*), I kinda like the new system better than the 5-stars one just for its transparency. I don't mind not having the gray area. I think overall human's tolerance for change is initially low when it comes to user interfaces, but I've never seen prolonged problems in terms of adaptation.
You can just not look below the video bit. It's not hard.

And yet complacency with stupid internet memes still runs rampant. We're
letting
people pollute the internet.

You mean I'm supposed to watch a video of [4] minutes in length and not have my eyes glance over at least one of the comments? That doesn't happen.

The facts are blatantly obvious, and yet you're still all naysayers and suggesting the problem is nonexistent. Just rate the garbage down on sight and be done with it. Suggesting that
I'm
the difficult one is ridiculous if you aren't even going to put up the effort to hit a button.

And people ask why idiocy is spreading in schools. Seriously, man, you oughta havesomething done to your head, I mean, I can watch a 15 minute video and still not glance at the comments.

Disagree with him bashing the layout, but onwards from that, awesome. It's certainly a different vantage, I'd much rather just stop it just cause it's repetitive and annoying.

See? People care. But yeah, I guess we're interestingly in agreement that GD is the wrong place to promote this. Onwards!

So, THAT'S the cliche on Youtube that bothers you?

Oh my goodness why does this bother you, why do you even care? Do you not have any real problems that frustrate you? It's not that serious. ~99% of the comments made on youtube are retarded and, because of such, many people know better than to waste their time READING them. It's expected to be filled with nonsense. If you went to youtube for the videos instead of the comments then maybe you wouldn't find yourself so aggravated over insignificant things such as this.
