General Rules

Modified, but stolen from Vi with... its... permission. (And now I notice I still don't know what Vi's gender)

1)
Starting and Ending States:
The game starts during the Day. All roles with QTs have permanent access to them. The game will end when one faction has fulfilled its win condition, unless otherwise specified.
2)
Day Procedures:
Each player may discuss the game and cast a single vote at a time against people they want to lynch. Day ends when either the deadline hits or a strict majority of the votes are on one person.
3)
Voting:
Votes should be in
bold
in order for them to count, for instance:
Vote: Bob Dylan
. If you wish to vote for a different player, you don't need to unvote. As long as I can tell who you're voting for, I don't care if you abbreviate someone's name when you vote them.
4)
No Lynch:
As an alternative to voting for someone, you may
Vote: No Lynch
, but for it to take effect, enough players must vote No Lynch that it would be impossible to form any other majority.
5)
Deadlines:
Deadline will be 3 weeks.
6)
Mass Inactivity:
In an act of pure villainy, I may shorten the deadline if I deem the activity level is unsatisfactory. You will be warned if I want you fellows to pick up the pace.
7)
Deadline Lynches:
If no single player has enough votes for a lynch at the deadline, the result is
No Lynch
and the game proceeds to Night. Deadlines are there for a reason.

8)
Twilight:
After someone receives the majority vote, everyone may still discuss the game, but votes and unvotes will not be considered - the person voted for by the majority will be lynched regardless. Twilight will last until I waltz in and post a death scene.

9)
Night Length and Procedures:
The topic will be locked at Night. If your Role PM specifies that you have a Night Action, you may follow the instructions on that PM to use it. Barring extenuating circumstances, Nights will not last longer than three RL days.
10)
Night Action Resubmission:
If you have to PM a choice to the mod (i.e. the name of someone you want to kill/protect/investigate), you may change your choice at any time during the Night by sending the mod another PM with the new choice. The most recent choice will be honored.
11)
Role Overlap Policy:
In the event of overlapping and/or contradictory Night Actions (i.e. a mutual roleblock), priority is given to whoever PMs the mod with the action first. However, if two kills are submitted on the same target, the most damaging death will be the one displayed (You can slit someone's throat first, but if he got blown to smithereens no one will care about his throat...). Finally, if two vote modifying actions affect you, the lower amount takes priority.

12)
Bolding Stuff:
Bolding something is how you get the mod to notice it. It's that simple.
13)
Mod Color:
If the mod needs to edit your post, it will be done in
brown,
italicized and bolded. Don't impersonate me.
14)
Activity, Prods, and Replacements:
You will be prodded if three days have passed since your last post. You will be replaced if you do not post after another two days, or if you need to be prodded three times throughout the game. If you know ahead of time that you will not be able to participate for at least 48 hours, go ahead and announce it in-thread so nobody (such as
the mod
) thinks you're lurking. I reserve the right to blacklist flakers or people who maliciously replace out.
15)
"Last Words" for replacements:
If you request replacement, you may PM me a message that you would like to have passed on to the person who replaces you.
16)
"Bah!" Posts:
If your player slot is killed off, it's probably because people don't want you around. Unless your role specifically states you can keep talking/voting/play parcheesi with me, you are allowed one informationless "bah" post and then scram til endgame. Special mechanics can of course overlap
17)
Outside Discussion:
Don't discuss this game outside of this thread with anyone unless your Role PM lets you do otherwise.
18)
Post Edition:
Editing or deleting posts is not allowed (and usually not possible). Doublepost with your changes instead.
19)
Mod and PM quoting:
You can post your role PM if it amuses you, but quoting any other communication with me is forbidden.
20)
Modkills:
Breaking any of the above three rules (or flagrantly violating Rule 16) will result in you getting modkilled. Modkills can be retroactive. If a living player breaks any of these rules, the day may or may not end, depending on what would disadvantage that player's faction the most. A dead player breaking any of these rules will result in someone from the same faction getting modkilled. In addition, getting modkilled results in an instant loss for that player, along with my general hatred. In short, follow the rules. Note that I'm not planning to keep a blacklist of people to refuse in my games, but I have goooood memory

21)
Win Mentality:
Play to win.
22)
Policy:
Have fun. Or else. And remember, it's a game - keep it classy and don't take things personally; everyone's doing what they have to to win.
23)
Setup Design:
Please do not attempt to outguess me as the mod or the setup designer. I have a very fertile mind...

24)
Cards:
Most roles are built like the following one. Only one power from each card may be used, the card disappearing upon use.
"Quote of sort about the arcana pawning the humans"

OOO, you are an
Innocent (gender)
, touched by the (card1) and the (card2).

-You can vote and post
-You can at anytime consume the power of one of your tarot arcane. Once used, a card burns, so choose how you'll play your cards wisely

(card1)
-Does Something
-Does a similar but different thing

(card2)
-Does Something
-Does a similar but different thing

You win when the mafia is defeated

Okay, a few things to say about me and Prox's hydra. You can tell us apart because he'll be posting in blue, and he'll also be using pirate-speak. Also, we won't vote without agreeing first. So if you see me say that I believe 100% that someone is scum, but I don't vote, it's because me and Prox haven't talked about it yet. The exception is of course RVS.That said,
VOTE: drmyshottyizsik
Just cause he's not in the game doesn't mean he's not scum.

Prox here. I won't point this out often, if at all after this 1st post.

Meh. Blue and pirate talk are overrated. I'd prefer you'd not tell us apart except when we disagree, or at least have separate trains of thought. The fun of being a hydra lies in being a 2in1 purchase.

I agree that a shotty policy lynch should be considered, imo.

Yes, I am aware currently you can be awfully confused by the complete lack of explanation with your PMs.

Basically, each card has 2 powers. The normal power (first listed) and the reverse power (second listed). Upon using either of these, you lose the other power attached to your card. You may use a card at any single time, but bear in mind effects vary depending on when you play: Day actions are, for the most part, instant actions, but obviously less subtle, because then I announce a card has been consumed in the next votecount. :P

my flavor makes me think it would be useful to ask someone something about the town that only one with a town role pm may know. It wouldn't confirm the questioned if knew, but would definitely help if te opposite were true. Thoughts?

Dram hasn't posted a ruleset but such things are usually dangerously close to modkillable. However, I think that selective flavor claiming could be useful. We should at least announce our genders. I am feminine.

Everyone please answer the follwing question. How much do you know about tarot, divination, and western hermetic traditions in general? (I've been reading tarot for twenty-seven years, including a brief stint as a "psychic friend," public busking, working the occasional event booth, and tutoring a small number of students. I spent more than a decade of that time studying related arts.)

I know the basics and a little more about tarot. I have a Golden Rider deck, have played Persona games (that maybe doesn't count) and know the general meanings of the major and minor arcana in upright and reversed positions. I can also perform five card readings.

I....(gandalf) know nothing about tarot. I just joined because it was a dram game. And I have not been disappointed in a dram game so far. I like the idea of claiming gender. I am also female.

Yes, that's when I started learning.

@Mistsu:
I adhere more to the Crowley school than that of Waite-Fortune, so I don't bother with the reverse meanings. I disagree with Crowley's interpretation of "Tzadi is not the Star" though, so I consider the Fool to be aligned with Aleph rather than Shin. Don't know if that makes any sense to you, but keep it in mind for innuendos.

No, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm just beginning. I have heard Aleph mentioned here and there in my research, though not in any great detail. I'll keep that in mind though.

Know very little about tarot. I joined this game because of mod and player list.

You know how dram said that some people were confused by their role PMs? I was one of them. As per the queue, there are no vanillas in this game. I don't really think I gave anything away.

I think gender claiming is problematic. See: The Chariot, The Lovers, Death, Wheel of Fortune, The World. Then again, this may be an issue of me not being all that familiar with reading of tarot.
