Welcome Dark
We have a newbie queue for getting into games and a number of other threads available on many topics. The wiki also has a lot of info. Due to a recent situation, there is not as much as there was on the Wiki, but there is still a lot of good info about the game on there. Feel free to read up a bit on some of the ongoing games to get a feel for how we play around here.

Welcome to MS Veniae The Newbie Queue is where you sign up for a game. Its a good idea to start with one there since the format is a bit more simplified than some of the other games on site.

@ Maestro
Modding is fun I am modding my first game in the open queue and I recommend it for starting out. You get a choice of certain games which gives you a framework to start with that you already know are balanced out. Hoopla is awesome at being a list mod too ♥
@ MM
Welcome and yes it can take a bit of a wait sometimes to get in the first newbie game, but it is worth the wait. Welcome to mafiascum

Welcome all.
Yes there are a lot of people from all over here so no worries CO2 and I know a few from the UK as well as Australia, India, and many other places besides North America.
Kilij I joined the site a few months ago because my bf (Nobody Special usually called NS) who has been here for quite some time and I decided to join each other's games. I had never played any kind of mafia game before this side so you can have just as much fun learning as someone who has played on other sites. I certainly have.
Telo my bf NS and I are also in CA but more middle in Modesto.

Belsarius I like your user name. Being a bit of a history buff, I am aware he was a very successful general for Constantinople in the early 500s (under Justinian I believe).

You might also take a gander at the Wiki, the tells can be a bit outdated, especially in non newbie games, but there is still a lot of good info there.

I find sepia is easier on my eyes than the blue is... For the most part it is easier for me to read. Of course I have my browser pages zoomed in quite a bit... I am about 70 % blind (mainly in one eye), and have to have the font bigger. On my Kindle Fire I have it set to Sepia pages too cause its easier on my eyes than the harsh black and white, but still provides enough contrast to read.

Welcome Newbies ♥
If you have not already done so, I highly recommend signing up for the newbie queue its a great way to get your feet wet and get a handle on how we play around here... Same with the wiki though keep in mind that the info about tells is often outdated because people are aware of those tells. Still a lot of good info there to be had.

Welcome Hardy
1. Get an avatar (must be no bigger than 100 pixels by 100 pixels) that will help with people getting to know and see your posts easier when playing a mafia game.
2. Only requirement for a newbie in the newbie queue is cant play in more than one newbie for your first game. After that you can play in as many games as you can handle. You can play in other queues, though depending on the setup, the mod may have special requirements like must have played in at least 2 games or some such. Most mods do not do this unless it is a tricky setup though. Once you have completed 2 games in the Newbie queue and 1 game in another queue (2 for Micro queue) you can play as a SE in Newbie games. 5 games and at least 2 outside the Newbie queue plus at least 3 months on site, you can be an IC and help teach others.
3. Lots of players here have English as a 2nd language so no worries, we have players here from all over the world.
4. Read the Wiki and the Site Rules. This helps a lot. Many of the tells in the Wiki are outdated, but a lot of good info there. The Site Rules are pretty straightforward.
5. Ask questions, get to know other players, and HAVE FUN ♥
