Mafia 31: African - Game over!

Akwaaba! You are welcome to Sabronum, a small Ashanti town on the banks of the Abu River. This peaceful town had been peaceful…until that day a week ago when both your Chief and Queen Mother turned up dead. Sabronum has been in a state of crisis ever since, with the feeling that far worse horrors were coming very soon…

The Rules:
(Stolen from MeMe, then modified)

• Votes must be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted.
• Please be attentive and unvote, if necessary, before casting a new vote. I am going to require this, as it makes vote counting much easier.
• Executions will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may vote: no lynch – majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.
• The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
• Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.
• Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts.
• Don’t use smaller-than-normal text or invisible text in your posts.
• Don’t quote any PMs from me.
• If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will mod-prod if necessary 12 hours prior to a night deadline, but I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.
• If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread and/or PM me. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.
• Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be fun. Do your part.

As an additional note, all roles are individualized. Townie roles all have some reference to not having special abilities and winning when evil is destroyed. This means different wording on everything in pro-town PMs, and you know everything upfront that might be compared to gain tricky advantages. Attempts to confirm people by using those, “What’s the fourth letter in your win condition?”-style tricks will be futile. Don’t bother dancing around the borders of the PM quoting rule. It won’t work.

All confirms are now in. It is now Night 1.

Please get your night choices in by
Saturday, February 5 at Midnight EST
. That should give plenty of time for people to get organized and evade various V/LA issues.

Mema mo akye. And a beautiful morning it is, warm with bright sunshine. The birds are singing outside your mosquito-screened windows as you take your breakfast. The fresh air invigorates you, and you can't wait to get outside and start the day.

Not so beautiful is the body that has been dragged out into the centre of town. Bludgeoned to death is PeaceBringer, lying with a shard of fired clay embedded in his skull. A search of his body confirms by his tribal markings that he was indeed Ashanti, and a search of his house reveals the tools and several unbroken pots to show he was the town's Potter.

Even less beautiful is the hacked-up body of the white man down by the river. Although not Ashanti, a search of Leonidas' house turns up some tea and various thick books. Nevertheless, there are no traces of anything dangerous to the Ashanti people.

Dead are:
PeaceBringer, Potter (Townie)
Leonidas, English Settler (Townie)

It is now Day 1.

With 23 alive, it will take 12 to lynch.

Two kills last night... that's actually not that bad, considering the size of the game. Two scum groups is probably the ideal number for the town, assuming one of them doesn't get eliminated early.

Semi-random
vote Talitha
since I haven't played with her before. :)

Not bad results for the first night. Any thoughts on why those two might have been selected for destruction?

Not really. I couldn't think of anything else to say at the time and I always try to say something productive...or provactive...whichever one works.

And I don't random vote in normal games to save mod the trouble of counting my vote that will obviously is going to be changed.

This sounds to me awfully like someone who spend the last few days thinking of the perfect person to kill for some specific reason, made that kill, and now wants the town to come to a false conclusion about who would have done the killings.

I know I'm reading a lot in to that, but I do think people who ask about the night-kills often tend to be the scum that killed them.

As much as it pains me to follow IS,

First,
Random Vote: Coolbot
because I'm jealous of his coolness.
Locus Cosecant wrote: Two kills last night... that's actually not that bad, considering the size of the game. Two scum groups is probably the ideal number for the town, assuming one of them doesn't get eliminated early.
Next, we can't assume there are only two killing groups solely based on the first night considering there are probably protecting roles out there that may have been lucky the first night.
Lastly, can you explain the last portion of the quote? Two killing groups are ideal for the town assuming one does't get eliminated early. If there ARE two killing groups and one gets eliminated early that would leave just one killing group and that would be an even more ideal situation. Or am I misinterpretting that quote?

You're reading too much into it. I was just trying to discuss about the only thing we were given by the mod-the persons killed. I suppose next time I should just 'random vote' and leave it at that to avoid this kind of thing.

But in any case, it is perfectly possible for pro-town people to bring up this topic, not just scum. I don't see where it's indicative of having a scum role.

Lots going on... People seem to be getting quite aggressive, quite quickly... interesting. We've got plenty of time, so I will
FOS: Mathcam
to stir things up a little.

Cam - can you explain why you think "[Viking's Post] sounds to me awfully like someone who spend the last few days thinking of the perfect person to kill for some specific reason, made that kill, and now wants the town to come to a false conclusion about who would have done the killings."

I don't see it - especially since we lost townies... what false conclusions could we come to, this being day one and all?

Maximumum, when killing groups kill each other, the town smiles a happy, happy smile, 'cause lynching is hard, and nightkilling is easy. If you have two killing groups, they can kill each other pretty easily, but don't mete out the wholesale death and destruction that more killing groups do.

Oh, and
vote: mathcam
for trying to kill the talkative based on evidence which is shaky at best. Speaking should not be a mortal sin in mafia.

you're acting like cam is hunting down anyone that talks to promote a lurker atmosphere. stop and think who you're talking to. Mathcam is the
most prolific player on mafiascum
. What reason would he have to hunt down his own kind just for the hell of it? On Day 1, voting for someone on shaky evidence is better than random voting with no evidence, so I don't see why you of all people, who hate random voting, are criticizing someone who's trying to act on information, something you've always advocated.
