Hmmzorz.

Mac Civilization V can't work with PC Civilization V yet due to patch problems with Aspyr.

However, Civilization V has Steamplay. This is deliciously beautiful. I'll tell you guys later if you can witness to my amazing Civilization V skills in multiplayer.

Medic is a good learning class. Even a bad Medic is usually more helpful to the team than a good player as any other class.

Pyro is awesome once you get the Degreaser and Axtinguisher. Airblast can kick some serious ass as well.

The most newbie friendly classes are Soldier and Heavy, and Sniper to a degree. I say this because they are the most effective even without a lot of experience behind them. A lot of the classes are really easy to pick up once you know the strategies though. My advice: avoid the Spy unless you're experienced, otherwise people just get pissed off. The Spy can be fun, but I would suggest playing other classes first.

Scout should be pretty friendly, just don't stop moving.

Scout is pretty simple for me. You just have to be able to aim really well, since you're moving so fast all the time.

And re: Seraphim: Don't pick Engineer either. People get REALLY pissed if you're a crappy engineer.

Some people just really take to Spy. It's one of those classes where either you're brilliant or you suck. It's definitely not for beginners, though. Same with Engineer, you have know the map first.

Scout and Sniper are good if you're used to shooter games. Otherwise, try Heavy or Medic. I've heard people say that Soldier is really good for people starting out, but I've never found that to be the case.

You should DEFINITELY do the training missions, though!
