Set-up:

Gurgi EC8

2 Mafia Goons:

You are a Mafia Goon!

Your partner is ________.

Each night, one of you may attempt to kill another player in the game by PMing me your target. Make sure to specify who is performing the kill.

As well, each night you may communicate with the other mafia members -here- You may talk in the pregame phase.

You win when all non-mafia players are dead and at least one mafia member is still alive, or when nothing can prevent this from happening.


0-3 Weak Cops (12.5% chance of 0, 37.5% chance of 1, 37.5% chance of 2, 12.5% chance of 3)

You are the Weak Cop. Each Night, you may investigate one player by sending me their name. If the player you target is mafia you will die.

You win when all mafia are dead and at least one pro-town player is alive.


3-6 Vanilla Townies (dependent upon the number of Weak Cops)

You are a vanilla townie. You have no abilities at night. All you have is your mind and your vote.

You win when all mafia are dead and at least one pro-town player is alive.

If you intend to be V/LA for any period of time, please post it in the game thread so the players and the mod will know where you are. Persistent offenders will be forcibly replaced. You have been warned.

11. The mod reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.

12. Play nice. Try to moderate your language and be civil and respectful to all players.

What do you mean by that?

Do you mean "I will investigate X," from everyone, and then if that person dies and flips weak cop, it's likely they investigated scum?

But the scum nk throws a wrench in that plan.

That is exactly what I mean.

And no, the scum NK doesn't necessarily interfere. If there is more than one death during the night, that means that a weak cop has hit scum--it definitely helps the town if they know who the cop's target was. The only way it can be less than clear is if the dead are all cops. That would mean that one of them was NK'd--but that still doesn't mean that we shouldn't know who the others targeted.

Yes, I think the benefits outweigh the confusion if we have two or more dead cops in a night, which may never happen.

And if a weak cop flips from investigation later, we get a string of innocents.

I vote yes for hypoclaiming.

I was thinking about that strategy myself. Odds are there are either 1 or 2 cops. My question however, is if the scum target cop A while at the same time cop A targets a townie, then it could show that the cop died while targeting a townie, and ruin the plan.

But the scum could decide to kill the cop even if they know the cop is targeting scum, or just not kill anyone that night, effectively "proving" one of their own innocent.

As for proving their own innocent... Okay, yes.

Then we should treat a weak cop nk as an uncomfirmed result. I didn't think of that.

Because I don't see why the scum would work against their own wincon.

That is something to be taken situationally, and if we as a town can see merit for scum in a no kill, we can discuss it then.

But generally speaking, scum are going to kill at night.
