Mafia 6

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Oct 20, 2002 11:46 am

Post by quercitron »

Copied from the signup thread...

It's a week before Halloween, and something spooky is going on in Arancio, Sicily. Not that this is exactly a surprise, as the citizens of Arancio get into Halloween. People go around in costumes (popular are Mafia, Cop, Doctor, and Townie) for Days in advance, and there are always lots of practical jokes played during the Night.
Except currently there's this odd rumour going around that the actual Sicilian Mafia (this sector is controlled by the Caruzi Family) wants to play a bit of an...impractical joke, namely killing everyone else. So they can have all the Halloween candy or something (yes, this is the stereotypical, consumer-oriented, stupid Halloween of America.)
After a bit of stereotypical trick-or-treating and costume making, the 25 citizens of Arancio go to bed, not all quite believing that the Caruzi Mafia would really dare do such a thing. After all, you can't play practical jokes on corpses, and the Mafia loves practical jokes.

RULES FOR NORMAL MAFIA 6

• Lynching during the Day will require a simple majority of votes from players. As soon as a majority is reached, the individual with the majority is considered lynched, and will be lynched on my return. As soon as a majority is reached, it is considered to be twilight. No relevant information may be posted during twilight. It is Night as soon as I declare it to be Night. There is no talking in the thread during the Night.
• There is no talking outside the thread at Night or otherwise except for groups to which I have explicitly given this right.
• Vote: no lynch will be registered as a vote for no lynch. If a simple majority of the players vote for no lynch, there will be no lynch and the Day will end.
• No quoting emails or other means of communication from the Moderator.
As it's near Halloween, there are a few little tricks (and treats) built into the Normal scenario. None are large enough to make this a theme game, but they're there. I'll let you know if and when they come up, unless part of the trick is the majority of the Town not knowing about it.

The Citizens of Arancio... 4/25

Dragon Phoenix (Pickpocket)
Dragon Slayer (Doctor)
eillid (Thief)
Mike Amok (Sane Cop)

The Deceased Citizens of Arancio...

Quailman (Forensics Detective) - shot in the head, Night 1
cuban smoker (Priest) - pitchfork, Day 1

Jalyn (Polygraph Analyst) - cause of death unknown, Night 2
JoTa632 (Nurse) - pitchfork, Day 2
jadesmar (Pickpocket) - run-in with the Mod's truck, Night 3
Soothsayer (Exorcist) - overchanneled power, Night 3
Werebear (Clairvoyant) - cause of death unknown, Night 3
Corsato (Caruzi Mafioso) - stabbed with a knife, Night 3
SaberKitty (Caruzi Mafia Godmother) - knife wound, Day 3
Internet Stranger (Twisted Cop) - cause of death unknown, Night 4
jesternl (Caruzi Mafioso) - stabbed in the back, Night 4
mo/hit/crumb (Evil Cult Leader) - Mr. Pitchfork, Day 4
discer (JD Vigilante Mason) - cause of death unknown, Night 5
jeep (Serial Killer) - shotgun-blasted, Night 5
mith (JD Vigilante Mason) - cause of death unknown, Night 5
Polotet (Townie) - pitchfork, Day 5
Gaspode (Pickpocket) - shot in the head, Night 6
Beaudoin (Caruzi Mafia Backstabber) - knifed in return, Night 6

IT IS FINALLY OVER. TOWN WINS.

Okey dokey. Having received enough results from the little survey I sent out to draw a conclusion, Mafia 6 is continuing as is. Sorry about the whole "having to read pages of backup" thing; hopefully we can move past that and continue.

The backup can be found here.

The death scene information:

The rope is frayed, but it appears to the less squeamish members that suffocation was not the cause of death, although they cannot determine what killed GARM. He looks completely ordinary - all they see is a wicked smile on his face, frozen there in a strange relative clarity in relation to the rustling branches around him. Upon further investigation, observent members of the Town notice that his costume is ripped to shreds.

Quailman has been brutally shot in the head in his bed.

ambic's throat is cleanly cut. A message on the wall written in blood says only "MY CLEANSING HAS BEGUN."

CURRENT VOTE COUNT (13 TO LYNCH)
Werebear: 5 (jadesmar, jeep, jesternl, Polotet, Dragon Phoenix)
IS: 3 (Jalyn, mith, JoTa)
Jalyn: 3 (Corsato, discer, IS)
Gaspode: 2 (DS, Jalyn)
eillid: 1 (Gaspode)
Beaudoin: 1 (mole)

Beaudoin has replaced Ningal.

The current Neighborhood Watch plan entails players voting for mith and discer; anyone who does not wish to follow this should inform me.

IT IS DAY 1. THERE IS NO DEADLINE AS OF YET. I AM SENDING A MASS EMAIL TO ALL PLAYERS REQUESTING PARTICIPATION AND RESPONSE.

Well, I voted Werebear on a hunch. Something about how he acted made me seem suspicious.

Hmm, I appear to be voting for both IS and Gaspode. I guess I'll unvote both until I figure out who and why I wanted to be voting for.

Basic happening on last page was jadesmar's pickpoketing ability and (possibly) Gaspodes smae/close to the same role.

Anyway, what I meant by going ha;f the distance, Gaspode was that I didn't see the reason in your revealing part of your role and not all of it. whether or not you eavela all of your role, you've already pointed yourself out to the mafia as a good pro-town (possibly very helpful) target. If you tell the rest of your role and it's important, then you'd probably get doc protection. By not revlealing all of your role, you risk getting killed by the mafia beacue the doc/docs don't know if they should believe you or not.

i
suggest
to reveal all of your role and if you do, then I suggest to a doc that you protect Gaspode (if his claim is believable and useful).
Ever wonder why that edit button is obnoxiously placed in the center like that? Yeah, that's cause of me.. and trust me, it's better off there.

I really don't know why I've being voted. And jeep seems to always have a hunch about me. :) All I've done suspicious, apparently, is wonder why the pickpocket doesn't look guilty to anyone else. To me, it seems like the pickpocket would not be working on the side of the town, it seems like he'd be reporting back to the mafia. Have you ever heard of a pickpocket going into a police station and giving them information?? All I've read suggests that pickpockets go back to report to organized crime figures. [sarcasm] Apologies for using logic at a time like this, it's all I had to work with at the moment. [/sarcasm]

Querci, I think I'm going to have to let someone else take over my role - I go home to my house with no Internet on Tuesday, and my access will be limited. Do you think you could arrange a replacement? Sorry for the inconvenience.

DS, I am
not
going to reveal my role, so STOP ASKING ME. I have already stated some reasons against it, and I have more that I am going to keep to myself. If the mafia have a reason to believe I'm important to the town, so do the docs. And, if a doc won't protect me, I'll take my chances. (Not that I wouldn't like to have some medical assistance.) :)

unvote: Jalyn
I don't remember why I voted for her and IS's posts about his votes for her give me the creeps.

So far, I'm the stooge with the target on him. Voting Jalyn would be the easiest thing on my part, but it's an easy cop-out, and I hate easy cop-outs. And I'm certainly not going to revel my role unless pressed. Make of it what you will. I'm not really into this game, I'm getting tired of being front man with the most votes, for no reason whatsoever... while suspicious roles are parading around in plain view. *shrug* We'll see.

Since people are begging for a lynching, and the crash has slowed this game to a snail's pace, lets bandwagon!

vote: Dragon Slayer
for being the only person ([sarcasm]except IS, ha ha [/sarcasm]) who wants me to reveal my role and for trying to make it sound like a huge deal. He might just be mafia trying to decide whether or not it's worth it to kill me. Besides, we have to move the game along somehow.

I agree with IS, let's get this game moving. Everyone vote werebear.

Werebear, I don't always have a hnch about you, only the few games were both in right now, right?

Discer, no not freudian, more likely I was not phrasing my thoughts properly because of illness/jet lag.
