Mafia 9- Night 4, replacements if you don't confirm

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sat Feb 15, 2003 1:39 pm

Post by jeep »

Status: It is Night 4. I will open a replacements sought thread in 24 hours and start replacing people in 48 hours.

You know how everyone knows each other in a small town? Well, Unpleasantville isn't like that. People there couldn't tell you the name of the man that lives next door to them, let alone what occupation he had. In fact, things were so unpleasent in Unpleasantville that a few memebers of the town plain went nuts and started killing people. Some said it was the "mafia" that came from somewhere else. Like I said, these people wouldn't know if the guy that shares their backyard fence moved in yesterday or had been there for years. Whoever was responsible, and whatever ends they were working towards, their means were clear. So many people ended up dead in Unpleastville that the story of the town spread across the country. But most don't have the story exactly right, see, and that's why I'm here. To tell you what REALLY happened.

But let me start from the beginning....

Living Players

  • Beaudoin
  • Corsato
  • Darkblade
  • discer
  • dourgrim (replacing casinopete)
  • Gaspode
  • jadesmar
  • leonidas
  • MatthewV
  • MikeGoo
  • Pestilenz
  • Polotet
  • quailman
  • Quercitron
  • RubberDuck
  • SaberKitty

Dead Players

  • Mike Amok, mafia, lynched day 3
  • Cuban Smoker, Private Detective, killed in a drive by shooting day 3
  • Dragon Slayer, townie, , killed in a drive by shooting day 3
  • Green Crayons, burglar, killed night 3
  • ambic, donut shop owner, lynched day 2
  • Bobacino, mason, killed night 2
  • Mackay, inventor, lynched day 1
  • Doomcow, medic, killed night 1
  • Dragon Phoenix, cop, killed night 1

Sketchwick will be helping me with some story writing and vote counts and such.

Most of the rules and ettiquette will be familiar, but please scan them anyway.

Rules and etiquette (mostly stolen from DP's games):
  • You may vote to not lynch anyone. In doing so, you go home. You MAY NOT post again after voting no lynch unless you are dragged from your house by getting half the majority.
  • During the game's nights, everyone who has to do so sends me an E-mail.
  • Please refrain from posting in this thread during the night. You may only post notice of absence, or maybe a "BAH!" during the night.
  • In the "morning" I announce the events of the night. During the daytime you discuss and vote to kill someone. I will announce beforehand how many votes are required for killing. It is my prerogative to set a time limit on the voting; I will announce that at least 24 hours before the limit expires.
  • Under no circumstance are you allowed to show any E-mails from me or others.
  • Please do not discuss this game via Instant messenger, E-mails (unless you are part of a group, and then only when it is night) or IRL....
  • If you are dead, you are dead. Do not post any information afterwards.
  • The moderator (that's me) is always right; you may not like it, but mods put a lot of effort in creating and moderating the game and their decision should be final.
  • The night arrives when I post that it is night. Once a majority is reached, that person gets lynched. You may continue to discuss during twilight (while you walk home) but you may not post at night.
  • I will be using DP's lynch rules. The person with a simple majority gets lynched. If a deadline is set, the person with the most votes will be lynched as long as that person has half the majority.

When I was a kid we had this Bill Cosby record I listened to all the time. He had this great routine about medics. Apparently in the Geneva Convention there is something about not shooting at the medics. The reality was that the enemy went for the medics first. I don't know if Doomcow ever heard Bill Cosby's routine, but he wouldn't have had long to appreciate the irony of being killed the first night things went wrong in Unpleasantville even if he had.

A noise made him bolt upright in his bed, and the shotgun blast quickly laid him back to rest. Doomcow's only consolation in his death was that if it had been someone else who died tonight, he wouldn't have been able to save them.

Speaking of someone else dying tonight, one of the police officers of Unpleasantville didn't make it to Tuesday Night Bowling. Dragon Phoenix
made it all the way to the parking lot of Al's Alley, but as he got out of his car a shadowy figure approached.

"Cops are so predictable," was all the shadowy figure said as he fired his handgun into the heart of the Dragon. He was found dead a few hours later.

The next day a lynch mob formed to string someone up for these brutal acts of violence. No one noticed the irony, but here is what I wrote down people said...

Dragon Phoenix, cop, was killed
Doomcow, medic, was killed.

The medic could save a person on even nights.

It is now Day 1. With 23 people alive, 12 to lynch.

Jeep, can you tell us who wrote each script at the end of post? Want to se if I can tell the difference between yours and Sketch's. Guessing the Cosby stuff is coming from Sketch.

No vote yet, I hate random voting. Hoping luck will provide a wee bit of clarity on this first day.

God damn it! A cop and a doc in one day? Bastards!

To start the ball rolling I'm going to vote randomly. I got a 7 so that's... Darkblade.

Vote: Darkblade

Sorry.

Note to mods:
DP and Doomcow appear on both lists (living and dead).

As amb said, it could not get any worse for the town. One presumes there is an odd-night medic as well as at least one more cop.

I also dislike random voting, but this is Mafia. Voting is what we do, and my RNG told me to
vote: Green Crayons
.

vote count

Bobacino 1 (Dragon Slayer)
Dragon Slayer 1 (Cuban Smoker)
Quercitron 1 (Corsato)
Green Crayons 1 (quailman)
Discer 1 (mackay)
Darkblade 1 (bobacino)
Mackay 1 (ambic)

Discer: No, I won't put the author of the stories in the post. I'm responsible for any errors that get through, so I won't let people say "Oh, Sketchwick wrote that..." But so far, Sketchwick wrote both parts of the story. I editted them. As a rule of thumb, go with this: If you think something about the writing was highly creative and cool, assume it was Sketchwick. If you see any errors in the writing, assume they were because of me.

Quailman: I have no idea what you are talking about... ~whistles innocently~

Hey! I thought 7 was supposed to be a
lucky
number! Anyways, voting for someone simply to protect yourself from being the one with the most votes is kinda cheap. Given there is nothing else on the table, I shall, for now at least:

Watch what you're doing guys. You are currently starting a bandwagon. First of all, the subjective reasoning, I'm not scum, so it would be a waste of time. Second of all, and this is a little more objective, since the town has already lost two of it's prime defenders, wouldn't it make more sense to wait for a valid line of logic before you axe another innocent?

I vote for Darkblade. Green crayons votes for me. I vote Green Crayons. Darkblade votes for me. I give perfectly good reason not to start a bandwagon. Gaspode votes for me.

Doesn't anyone think this is a bit fishy?

something fishy...maybe...

sure you got the sequence right, but you also claimed that you are innocent in your post. I wouldnt recommend claiming innocence this early. FYI: day one of jeeps last game I helped lynch a person who did
almost exactly
the same thing as you.

I wont vote for you because I think we can still get more from this.

Bobacino-

Ok, no matter how you look at this it's not a very good post. Shakey mafia logic, or is he an innocent not being very....hmmm... it just seems like something a new person would say. Oh right, he is new, sorry. Okay, it's too straight forward and it would bother me if he'd been here for a while. However, he hasn't so... it still seems kinda suspicious. I'm going to keep my vote (note, I'm not affiliated with anyone else voting him). Although he could just be a misguided townie, I'm going to out my money on "trying to protect himself cause he's mafia". I may be wrong, but it's just a hunch. Oh, and if we ever find out who he is and he's not innocent then I'll throw out a little
FOS at Ciban Smoker
. Seems to be protecting a shakey post- however that's only if Bob's scum.
G`night.
