Taking a stab in the dark. Scum's reaction to my question would be an obvious no, but while also trying to get the attention off them.
Hippo answered no, but then he tried to stop the question from progressing further.

This has been a frustrating day.

I was hoping for something from Elmo
Commenting on what just transpired.
But as this day has seemed to go,
No response from him can be acquired.

It's been 2 days since Elmo last
Said anything of use.
He hasn't once said these two days past

It makes me think that he's just waiting, sitting on the fence,
