I initially thought you were town because your read on Shotty was the same as mine. Your general play seemed good.
You had thought at first that us claiming different targets was best, and you said so yourself at one point that confirm shooting was stupid. Yet as we were going to go into night, you were suggesting for me to shoot Vijay, and trying to 'remind' vijay that he was interested in shooting me.

As far as this setup goes, did you enjoy it? Do you think it should be run again?

Upon thinking about it more, I am seeing cracks start to develop in the setup, and although I don't think there is a game-breaking plan per se, it might be optimal to orchestrate actions in some arranged manner (even if that arrangement is just no-commuting at night), which takes out some of the fun in the setup. I'm not sure how salvageable the concept is.

Yeah very enjoyable. But yeah making an arrangement is really the way to go here. One thing I can suggest is adding a random element to it (ie you don't know whether you get a shot or commute) but that becomes kinda icky to deal with. Less strategy, more shoot and hope.
