I suggest investigative roles target one of MoI/Pota, as there is almost guaranteed scum in one of us (hint: it's MoI). Getting an investigation will just make it easier to get the scum between us lynched.

Also, tying onto that, Cop should not claim at all unless he gets a guilty.


During the night phase I'm going to have Bitmap reread the game and find suspects to make cases on to see if he can convince me.

After a great deal of arguing, a decision had been reached.




Malakittens struggled with the noose tied tightly around her neck, but to no avail. Potatouhou and Toro merely looked on as the rest of the townspeople forced her onto the makeshift podium, stringing up the other end of the rope over the post that stood ominously over the wooden chair.


She was placed onto it, and the rope was pulled taught.


"Any last words?" PMysterious asked.


Despite her violent behavior on the way up, she was completely silent.


"Oh well."


And with that, a well placed kick from PMysterious on one of the chair's legs was all it took to leave the girl hanging. She flailed about for a few seconds, trying desperately to hang on to her last breath, her yells strangely turning into snarls, and then whimpers, and then...


...


As her limp body swung slowly around, her killers could see the horrifying smirk plastered on her face, her mouth covered in froth. Only, something was happening with the smirk.


As the town watched on in horror, the girl they once knew as Malakittens was disfiguring into a feral beast. With elongated teeth and nails, a scraggly coat of brownish fur, and a very limp tail, there was no mistake as to what she was.

A scuffle in the night.




PMysterious was pouring himself a cup of tea when he heard it. Still elated after the lynching of the town’s feral beast, his one true enemy, he strode out of the cottage to see what the commotion was. As an eccentric man with a hobby for tea-reading, he lived on the outskirts of town, so any noise outside of crickets chirping and crows cawing was a cause for excitement.


…


A nearby streetlight had gone out. Its absence left a decent part of what was usually a well-lit street completely swallowed in shadow.


Strange.


His curiosity getting the better of him, PMysterious began to step out of his garden, when suddenly-

*SLAM*

He whipped himself around to see that the door to his small house had been thrust shut. He started towards it only to trip on his cobblestone walkway, dropping his teacup, which shattered a distance away. He cursed his clumsiness, and as he staggered to retrieve the ceramic parts spread out on the rocks-


“… Huh?”


…


A scream.


A blood curling, silence-shattering scream could be heard all throughout the town. A few of the townspeople slept soundly through the event. The ones that didn’t stayed up all night in their beds for fear of what could have caused the noise.

As the small town gathered together in the square to take a headcount in the morning, the absence of one was noted.


The half-delirious chap that seemed very enthusiastic in the lynching the day before was missing.


Reluctantly, the town trudged up the hill to his house to confirm their suspicions. As they rounded the bend to his dimly lit cottage, a sickening smell pierced their nostrils.


The source of the stench was found to be a red and blue mass sitting on PMysterious’ walkway, still moist being covered in the morning’s dew. The weak-stomached stayed back as MagnaofIllusion cautiously walked towards the mysterious form.


Indeed, it was what was left of PMysterious. With most of the flesh rended from the bone, his carcass was only distinguishable by the star-spangled blue robe that he wore every single day while out and about.


A fair distance away on the cobbles sat the remains of what was probably his favorite teacup, the one he carried around with him everywhere even in the case of a lack of tea. But, something was off about the scene.


MagnaofIllusion approached the other side of the walkway, and looked at the image that was somehow formed by the remains of the cup. An outline of an animal’s silhouette could be seen, its elongated head being accentuated by a small ear and an exaggerated set of ceramic teeth lining its maw.


The prophet had finally made a worthwhile prediction, but it was much too late.

His original 75%-serious vote on Mala for something rather irrelevant looks like distancing, and his interactions with her continue to be suspicious in light of her flip. Throughout the middle of the day, he consistently called her scum, such as post #126 where he wrote, directed to Mala:

This is our 51st post, and the best you can give us is "probably town"?

Yeah, just die please.

Yet he did not lay a vote on her because:

She isnt't a great lynch today because the wagon is on PM right now. If people are willing to switch to a Mala wagon, I will switch too.

At the time of that post, neither PM nor Mala were particularly close to a lynch. PM was at L-2, and Mala was at L-3. Several people did express an intent of putting PM at L-1, but just the fact that everyone was reluctant to do so speaks to the momentum of his wagon. This post alone might not have been so scummy if it wasn't for Potato's repeated pushing of a PM wagon by saying there were no other suspects to pursue in the day despite the fact that there was most certainly still discussion going on, such as the one about Mala.

And then this:

Mala is actually totes town. If you're wondering why, it's because I had an epiphany!
Well not really, I'm starting to feel really strongly about MoI being scum, and I'm not reading his attacks on Mala as bussing.

He jumped off the Mala-scum-read-train as soon as that wagon really started to gain momentum.

Even apart from his interactions with Mala, I find Potato scummy for the attacks he made on MoI, such as in 149:

I mean seriously, I'm scum but not scum at the same time, multiple times. And then all of a sudden, Mala has a high chance of being scum out of the blue, despite MoI being so confident in his scumread on me. And hey look, in exactly the same post, he says he isn't even disregarding PM and Mala being a scumteam together. If this isn't setting himself up for future lynches then I don't know what is.

Oh yeah, and don't forget how he was attacking me for trying to get a lynch, and now he's attacking me for not being on a lynch. Yeah, nice flip flop. You can't take both sides here.

The reasoning is weak and bordering on misrepresentation. Just overall, this case feels manufactured, and I don't like the way his post 263 attempts to set up a false 1v1 between him and MoI when there's no evidence to suggest exactly one of them must be scum.
