Finally got some time and wakefulness. Thanks for waiting.
This setup is very scumsided if scum manage to get that D1 mislynch + N1 kill. If they do it, not only is D2 MyLo, but they can even quickhammer and win--if Town is at L-1 on D2, one of the scum can call "Let's kill X Tonight!" (outing themselves at no risk) and quickhammer at the same time. There is nothing the Town can do to prevent that N2 kill, so I was hoping that strategy wouldn't be found out and used (and was somewhat surprised when Equinox didn't seem to figure it out). They can even do it on D1, to a bigger risk--it requires one of the scum outing themselves and relies on the other one taking the game through LyLo alone, but it's feasible.
I tried to clean the original design a bit. The No Lynch days aren't elegant from a setup perspective, but add or remove a Town player, and the odds of getting several No Lynch Days (or "Discuss Whether We Should No Lynch Days") only increases. It's likely a setup flaw in general, which needs a
smarter designer
larger game and/or different mechanic to patch up.
That said, I enjoyed the fact that the scum had no factional communication. It reverses the roles somewhat--now it's up to Town to figure out breadcrumbs, and for scum to feel alone without a partner they can somewhat rely on, and who they can only bus on late game, otherwise they lose a Night-kill. (Perhaps that is one of the spots that can be patched up, if this setup is to work: there is no point in giving Town a skipped Night phase during
late game
, because at 4p MyLo they will just choose to No Lynch.)
As for replacements, my rules were probably not very clear. I give a one-prod tolerance during a Micro Day, and replace upon the second prod-time; IceGuy misunderstood this and thought he still had leeway, thus asked to be let back in the game. After talking it over with StefanB, and given that no game information had been shared, I decided to allow him back in and amended my prod text to include a notice when it's the final prod a player can take on that Day/during the game.
Thank you all so much for playing. I can only imagine how obnoxious the No Kill/No Lynch cycles were, yet you were all good sports through it and there were no complaints.
ITG I learn that Shakespeare has far more grueling and creative deaths for his characters than I can ever hope to devise. ^_^;
